Shannon is responsive in the beginning, but communication starts to fall off and makes you question if she is going to be truly reliable for the event date.
My main issue is professionalism - especially with money. She asks for a 50% deposit in the beginning, to hold the date and makeup trial but if you need to cancel good luck getting the refund back.
For me, I wanted three hair & makeup artists so I felt stress-free and not rushed. She assured me that with three artists we would have plenty of time to get through everyone. On morning of wedding I had to text her to make sure all was still as planned with her time of arrival and the third artist showing - she let me know last minute the third artist canceled on her and her second artist is running late. At first I did not think much of it, but now I’m coming to the conclusion that there never was a third artist and she tried to scam me by paying extra for one.

With that being said, I was rushed with only the two stylists and she made us run over our time that I wanted to be ready by. When I requested that I be refunded the $150 I paid for a third stylist before day of event, she said insisted that she would refund me as soon as possible but after numerous follow ups and 3 weeks since my event she date the $150 has not been refunded and I don’t plan on getting that back.

Thankfully, it’s only $150 and could have been half of my final payment ($950). While her talents are great and she has a fun personality, I would look elsewhere for your peace of mind and knowing your money is in safe hands and your requests are respected.

Paid $1,700 for bridal services that lacked an assistant and promised airbrush makeup, leaving me very disappointed overall. would not recommend her services, especially for a bridal party of any size. I had only four bridesmaids and a flower girl, yet the services were still inadequate. I was highly disappointed and also expected some form of follow-up or apology afterward, which I never received.

To add to all of these other reviews, I also had a poor experience with her. I posted in a FL Keys wedding Facebook page asking for recommendations for hair/makeup artists & somehow was recommended her, so i went with it. Definitely kicked myself later for not doing more research and finding other options, but I’m not from the area so i just assumed it would be fine. After paying our deposits, I reached out over 10 times (not exaggerating, I have the screenshots to prove it) through text and Facebook messenger to try and schedule my trial & was ghosted for months & then would get excuses as to why she hadn’t responded & then proceed to still not get back to me about booking a trial. Looking back at the screenshots is making me mad all over again 😅 ended up having to do my “trial” the night before my wedding for the rehearsal dinner. Talk about stressful. The communication was absolutely horrible. The morning of the wedding came around & we started at 9am for a 5pm ceremony. Should’ve been plenty of time, but we ended up being so rushed for time that i didn’t get any of my getting ready pictures with my bridesmaids & we had to rush through the special moments with family before the ceremony (first looks with mom & dad, gifts, etc) because we were so behind. One of my bridesmaids who paid for makeup didn’t even end up getting her makeup done because we didn’t have time for her, she had to go do her own makeup herself. The lady doing the hair had her daughter (i think?) with her helping get the bridesmaids hair done, which i thought was unprofessional at the time because that’s not what we had talked about, but at that point we just had to get ready and there wasn’t a lot of time for questions. I was overall pleased with my look for the day of (thank god) but a lot of my bridesmaids said they had to go touch up their makeup because they weren’t happy with the end results. Thank goodness for my photographer who had been keeping track of the time (she had to come in and tell them they needed to start of my hair immediately) otherwise we would’ve definitely missed more of the special before moments & potentially would’ve been late for the ceremony. I definitely wish i would’ve cancelled her services and asked for a refund at the start of the attempt to book a trial with no response, but i didn’t and that’s on me. But definitely felt like i needed to share our experience so that other brides know what they might be signing up for if they decide to book her and her team. I’d say I was a very chill bride, thank goodness, but i won’t lie and say that it didn’t cause a lot added stress leading up to the wedding and the day of.

Makeup artist? Not so sure about that….

Found this artist through a post on a bridal FB group, had to contact her on 3 different social media accounts to get a response which should have been my first red flag/warning. Finally scheduled things with her through email where she said she would send me a contract to sign, it was a questionnaire about the wedding day not even a real contract (second red flag). When it came to a deposit her Venmo was shutdown (3rd red flag) so I ended up paying through a different banking app. Anyway heard nothing from her about scheduling a trial after the payment, and no confirmation that she even got payment. I started to get suspicious when she was reposting old work instead of new jobs/work on FB. I did more research, then found the reviews on here (all negative no good reviews anywhere, last red flag) and knew I screwed up and hired a scam artist. I asked for a refund since my wedding was still 6months away and she had plenty of time to rebook, and I heard nothing back from her. So I confronted her about the scam reviews. After some arguing she said she would refund me in a week, but no refund was issued. Every time I tried to contact her she would say “I told you I would contact you when it’s complete” or wouldn’t respond at all. Finally after 3 weeks of no refund, I told her I was done waiting and would be reporting her and her business as fraudulent.

I believe this woman never intended to be at my wedding to do my makeup and I’m only glad I found this out now and not a month before or worse the day of. Do more research before hiring, lesson learned!!

Hello Fellow Brides! Don’t make the mistake I did! Google the name of your vendors before you book them!

If you’re looking for hair and makeup, DO NOT USE Shannon Marie Artistry. I want to let you know about a scam via Facebook. I took the recommendation to use Shannon Marie Artistry. I’m planning a destination Wedding from California, so it’s been a challenge to find vendors and arrange things from afar.

Things started out great. She message me promptly, sent over a quote, and requested a deposit of 50% down via Venmo. (BTW: 50% of the total is too much for a deposit) She stated that giving that deposit would secure my date Feb. 6th for a trial, and April for the Wedding. I made a huge mistake of not doing further research by googling her name, and checking others reviews. I gave the deposit of $590 on January 9th and sent a text over letting her know I sent the money. At that time, she did not respond but I didn’t think much of it.

Monday, January 27th I sent a text to schedule a time to do the hair trial on the 6th. No response. I attempted to call on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It rang several times and went to voicemail. I sent another text and also an email on Wednesday. No response. On Friday the 30th I filed a complaint with Venmo. On February 6th, the date of our appointment she messaged me stating that she was in the hospital and asking why I filed a “false claim” of fraud. She was mad that her Venmo did not work. She asked me to release the claim of fraud and said she would pay me back. I told her that I would not revoke the claim until my deposit was refunded for services not rendered. I asked her multiple times to refund me via zelle or paypal, but she refused. I explained that for almost 2 weeks I was having nightmares about things going wrong with my wedding due to her lack of communication. She claimed that she wants to make it right, but has not. She refuses to refund my money unless I remove the claim of fraud with venmo first. Unfortunately, now I have to go through the court process to get my money.

I used Shannon for my wedding in June 2016. She cancelled on me last minute for my trial makeup on wedding shower day. Then on the actual day of my wedding she claimed she had a flat tire, showed up late, rushed through my bridal party and I’s makeup. Was rude and unprofessional and hard to get ahold of and communicate with. Had the nerve to make some comment about tipping her. Please save yourself the hassle and hire someone else.

Please do NOT use Shannon! She has been removed from multiple wedding sites because of her lack of professionalism and terrible customer service. She lied to me, tried to steal my money and ruined my bridal shower. I've seen MULTIPLE bride's comments on their terrible experiences! Please. There are many others available in that area. I know I had to find someone else!
