We interviewed over a dozen photographers before choosing Scott, and from the start, his photography and editing style truly stood out to us. We appreciated that Scott took the time to speak with us several times before the wedding to ensure he fully understood our vision for the day. It was clear he genuinely cared about capturing the essence of our celebration. Our wedding planner referred Scott to my husband and I when she sent us her list of recommended photographers in Sarasota. We live in Boston, so we knew that we probably wouldn’t meet whomever we chose in person until closer to the actual wedding day. It was very important to us that we not only liked this person’s work, but also that we felt a genuine sense of comfort and connection with them. After scrolling through a few different websites from the list, we found Scott’s page.

I think my husband’s exact words were, “Oh my GAWD, YES!” Instead of the typical wedding shots and semi-corny/standard intro text we kept seeing on each photographer’s site, Scott’s homepage featured a wide shot image of a couple standing on a cliff, looking out over an expanse of forest and water in Lake Tahoe. Unconventional, uncompromising, unapologetically unique,

and so well done. What followed was an introductory Zoom call, where we immediately clicked (to be honest, the first ten minutes consisted of my husband gushing over Scott when he realized they shared a mutual love for fishing in Florida) and went well past our scheduled time getting to know each other and discussing our vision. By the end, we knew we liked his work and that he’d do a good job. But when he stayed on to talk to us about our lives, including the recent loss of my father, we knew he was someone who cared.

We finally met Scott in person eight months later when we flew down to Florida for our final vendor meetings, and it felt like we’d known each other for years. Scott met us on the beach for drinks and offered to take some impromptu sunset photos so we could get comfortable working together. He also made it through drinks with both of our mothers (always an adventure!) and since we had come straight from the airport, Scott offered to let my husband throw his suitcase in the trunk of his car. This also gave the two of them a chance to break away from so many women and spend more time talking about fish.

While the initial meetings were a blast, Scott’s work and presence on our actual wedding day were nothing short of phenomenal. He was present, he was excited, he made every single person (all 35 people in our wedding party) feel like they were movie stars in front of the camera, and he showed a genuine interest and commitment to capturing every unforgettable moment. More importantly, Scott went above and beyond his job as our photographer and became an integral part of the planning and execution throughout the night. Just before the reception, when some unexpected storm clouds blew in and threatened to take down the lighting and table décor I had planned meticulously and stressed about for months, I looked out and saw Scott standing with his arms out calling to me. “Ames! Everything is going to be fine! We’re all here and we’re all happy!” He immediately helped me feel calm and reassured, just as the sun came back and pushed the rain out of the forecast.

The entire night was filled with love, laughter, and magical energy, and Scott caught every second of it. Our wedding photos reveal some of the happiest moments of our lives, but they also show the very real emotion of what it means to celebrate love and connection amidst a huge loss, as well as the beauty of two families coming together in renewal.

Scott is and will always remain a friend to us, and we’re so grateful for all that he did for and with us. If you’re looking to build the best team for your wedding day, Scott’s an All-Star player, and he should undoubtedly be your number-one pick.

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer than Scott.

We were struggling to find a photographer who’s style we both liked. Choosing a photographer for your wedding is one of the most difficult parts of planning. They are an integral part of your day and you will spend a lot of time with them, and you want to get photos you’ll love to look back on the rest of your life. We were really hoping to find someone who we felt comfortable with and who was skilled and captured beautiful photos. We also knew we needed someone who wasn’t afraid to take charge of the wedding party and family to get the pictures done well, all while making everyone feel comfortable.

In meeting with other options, we typically found that we either liked the pictures but struggled with the personality, or liked the personality but the pictures weren’t great. Luckily, we found exactly what we were looking for with Scott.

From our first intro call, it already felt like Scott was an old friend. We booked him for the wedding and added an engagement shoot as well. We didn’t “need” engagement pictures, but were so glad we did the session as it gave us a chance to work with Scott before the wedding day, and the session went so well that it made us feel at ease knowing we made the right choice in photographer. Scott was so open to hearing our ideas, trying out different shots and locations and just seeing what we liked!

It was clear he was very skilled. He would explain the lighting and other differences in why we may or may not like pictures in a spot we would recommend (but then he would still take the picture to show us – and he was always right about whether we were going to like it or not!).

Come wedding day, Scott fit right in. All of our guests loved him. He always had a smile on his face and made everyone feel at ease. We had also separately hired a videographer, and Scott worked seamlessly with him, even though they had never met before that day.

We also couldn’t believe how quickly we received our pictures. It wasn’t required in our contract, but Scott got us our photos within 2 weeks after the wedding. It made it so special to get to see all of the pictures and relive our special day so soon after the wedding, while all the memories were still fresh.

The pictures are simply beautiful. Everyone loves them, and we are so happy with the result. We’ve included just a few pictures for reference (but we received over a thousand pictures in the whole album!).

If we can convince Scott to cover any other types of events, we would certainly hire him again any chance we got.
