Beautiful rings, accommodating service!

We got our matching wedding bands from Satomi Kawakita through their online shop - a beautiful, unique, delicate design that was listed on the site in one of our sizes, but not the other. Happily, Satomi Kawakita accommodated us by making the ring in a custom size and we are now both wearing our favorite design. The rings are beautiful and the experience was easy!

Unique and delicate

Instead of an engagement right and wedding band combo, I decided to get a set of Satomi Kawakita stacking rings. I visited the showroom a handful of times and worked with a very patient saleswoman who helped me put together a stack that I love! My now husband also got his wedding band there. We were drawn to the high quality of the jewelry as well as how unique and handmade each piece looks. We highly recommend Satomi Kawakita!

I loved working with Satomi's team!
They were so sweet and welcoming when I came in for my fitting. I definitely want to get my wedding band with them too.
The quality of my ring is great, it withstands everything!
I get a lot of compliments on my unique, feminine, dainty ring.

My husband and I absolutely love the wedding rings we got from Satomi. Her designs are simple and beautiful--a unique, delicate, organic style using ethically sourced/conflict-free gold/stones. We purchased both my engagement ring and wedding bands from Satomi, and she was incredibly easy to work with. We were able to book an appointment and come to her studio within a few days each time, and she was able to have the rings ready for us within a short turnaround time (2-3 weeks). Satomi was patient in showing her pieces and not pushy in any way. My husband and I shopped around a bit for our wedding bands, and we did not see any other rings we were more impressed with, despite many of them being higher in price. We definitely recommend Satomi's wedding jewelry to the off-beat/low-key couple who appreciates the beauty of simplicity.

Beautiful and unique wedding jewelry

My fiancee purchased the engagement ring I wanted from Satomi Kawakita, and I was so happy with it! The ring is beautiful, the information online was clear and I thought the overall value for money was great considering their jewelry is unique but well still well priced.

My husband and I wanted to unique wedding jewelry -none of those dodgy cookie cutter ones in the malls- and found Satomi Kawakita online. Being that Satomi Kawakita is based in New York all our communication was done via email.
We did not get to buy the rings we had initially wanted because Satomi recommended a different style that would hold up better (not loose it's shape in time) as wedding bands. We ordered the R2305 for my husband and R2101 for me. Satomi finished my husband's ring with the same finish as mine so it would match. We had ordered the rings only a little over two weeks before the wedding and we were concerned about it not getting to us on time but Satomi finished it during the time she said she would and we received it within the time she agreed to. The rings came in a nice little black ring box inside another black box with her signature on the lid. Also in the box was a card with a little thank you inscription from Satomi. The rings looked great and met our aesthetic.
My husband measured his ring wrong so it was a little bigger than he expected. I emailed Satomi right away and she said if we wanted it resized it could be done for a minimal fee, and that if we were ready to just email her and let her know it's on it's way. We have not sent it back yet to be refitted but we're confident Satomi will do a great job in a timely manner.
I only gave her a 4.8 score because her website does not have a phone number listed. We wanted to clarify how to order the rings since the ordering tab only went up to a certain size. It would have been more comfortable for me to speak with her directly since what we're ordering is not exactly some negligible and cheap item. She did reply via email the next day and we sorted it out.

They tried to rip us off.

My husband and I went to Satomi's store to find my engagement ring. We finally decided a black diamond ring, the same as the sales associate (Ali) who was showing us the rings was wearing. After a few weeks, I noticed the stones were a bit separated from each other, so we went back to the store to talk about it. We went speechless when we saw my ring next to Ali's ring. Mine was way smaller and non-organic looking compared to Ali's. We thought we were in a place we could trust (we assumed that because it is a well located jewelry designer and not cheap.). It was my engagement ring, the one! They changed it and made a new one. I asked Ali to wear her ring when we come back to pick up our new ring but she didn't have it on, she told us her fingers were swollen that day, so she couldn't put it on. It was winter and her fingers looked fine. We were very disappointed and we definitely do not recommend them.

They would not accept an exchange for an engagement ring I didn’t want.

I chose my engagement ring a year before my fiancé asked me to marry him. We found Satomi’s beautiful jewlery at CatBird, in Brooklyn. My fiancé went to her showroom to shop for rings. He picked a similar ring to the one I’d fallen in love with, but while I had my eye on a ring with a champagne diamond and rose gold band, he picked a light blue alexandrite stone in a different metal. I appreciated the thought...but I was disappointed. I don’t like the way blue and gold look against my skin tone and it simply was not the ring for me.

We contacted Satomi’s store and were told the ring was final sale. I understand what final sale means, but I wasn’t present when it was purchased and I was hoping since the ring was untouched and unworn, and because I wanted to get a different ring, they would allow us to put that ring towards a new purchase.

The response I received was “We can not accept the ring back under any circumstances.”

I’m sad that he wasted money on a ring that I will never wear, but the part that was most upsetting? After that interaction, I cannot imagine ever wanting to do business with Satomi. I won’t be getting the ring I wanted for so long and would have happily purchased before this awful experience.
