I started looking for wedding photographers by stalking the Instagrams of photographers on Oahu. It was really important to us to have somebody local to Oahu, whose creative vision and editing style matched our preferences. (I admit I had a really specific vision: I love colors, wanted a photographer who would bring out the green environment and colorful flowers rather than making everything "sad beige" style, but also have sort of classic/romantic looks, and bring authenticity). Sarah fit all these things perfectly!

Sarah was wonderful to work with, easy both in our pre-wedding planning and on the day-of. She "got" our vision pretty much right away, and it was easy to both improvise things and fit in shots from the list that we wanted. We were looking for both silly/casual/fun photos but also some beautiful shots with views of our gorgeous venue, and we loved how they all came out! I'd highly recommend Sarah as a wedding photographer!

We hired Sarah Jual to photograph our wedding at the Halekulani in July, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From start to finish, Sarah was fantastic to work with and made the entire process so easy. One thing I didn’t fully appreciate before the wedding is how much time you actually spend with your photographer on the big day—probably more time than with some of your guests! That’s why it’s so important to hire someone whose vibe you truly enjoy, and Sarah was perfect. She and her assistant photographer were fun, bubbly, and brought such great energy to the day. They made us feel completely comfortable and relaxed, which really shows in the photos. Speaking of the photos—they are stunning! Sarah captured every moment beautifully, from intimate ceremony shots to fun, candid reception moments. She even edited out a few stray people in the background of some of our beach shots, which made the photos even more special. Sarah went above and beyond by attending our ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding—on July 4th, no less! Her dedication to understanding the flow of the event ensured that she could capture every important moment flawlessly. We absolutely loved working with Sarah and are so grateful to have such gorgeous photos to remember our special day. We would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented, professional, and genuinely wonderful photographer!

There just aren’t enough words to possibly describe how amazing each and every photo that Sarah snaps. She has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting and of course, candid expressions! We found Sarah early on in the planning process of our destination wedding. From the bat, my husband and I knew we wanted to book Sarah based on our consultation video call—she was warm, friendly, and super easy going and a pleasure to talk to! She understood our vision, which included capturing tons of candid and playful photos for our engagement shoot, and later, our wedding day. During our engagement shoot with her, she helped us relax and get use to having a camera in front of us for photos, something that I personally thought I would be awkward but was not whatsoever. Come wedding day, my husband and I felt super comfortable and had fun with Sarah’s direction for shots, from portraits to group shots with friends and family. We cannot highly recommend Sarah to capture your special moments 😊 P.S. Ask about her photobooth-- such a fun and truly memorable part of our wedding day!

From planning, engagement photos, postponing, elopement, to reception, Sarah has been with us through it all. She is so easy to work with and made the process worthwhile. We’re kind of awkward when it comes to photos but Sarah made it more comfortable. She really knows her stuff and is passionate at what she does. Working with her is like working with a good friend you’ve known for a lifetime. Our photos came out so beautiful and can’t wait to finally print it out for display. If you’re looking for a photographer, Sarah is a must! Just do it, you won’t regret it!

Sarah went above and beyond to make sure all my landscape picture dreams were made and that all my checklist pictures were included without making my husband and I feel like we had to pose and be “stiff”. Very friendly and professional. I will say being in the thick of COVID she was very understanding and helped us plan even when we were a whole state away. Making sure we were comfortable, even to the minor detail of our payment plan (now who does that?!).
I love her editing and her style of capturing just the right moment and while looking at each photo it takes me back to that exact moment in time. If you are considering hiring Sarah I would definitely recommend her to everyone for every occasion because she was so easy to work with and took well to highlight even our vendors’ work without hesitation.

My husband and I loved having Sarah as our photographer for our big day! She made having a COVID wedding way less stressful with the never ending changes. Sarah was really flexible with the COVID guidelines constantly changing and was always available to talk about details leading up to the day. She really eased my worries with the photos. She was so friendly and went above and beyond what I expected of her on the day of the wedding. I really appreciated her coming early to scope out the area to see where she would take pictures from and even staying a little later than she planned to take pictures with my family driving by.
I am no expert at wedding photos, but she was also willing to take photos of anything I had in mind. I also appreciated the guidance she gave us when we were taking pictures. I could tell she genuinely wanted to make this day special for my husband and I. She captured the best moments from our day and made my small wedding ceremony look amazing! I have already hung up some of my absolute favorite photos from her in my house! I would definitely recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Unfortunately I am a part of the ‘Rona wrath & had to cancel our August 2020 wedding in Oahu ;( However I have had the best experience with Sarah and wish I was able to meet her in person. This goes to show she communicates really well and reaches out regardless of how big or small the question was. I live in the mainland and I wanted to find a local photographer who also had the style of photos I gravitated towards. I also had a good feeling about her, I felt comfortable and trusted she knew exactly what I was looking for in a photographer. She is also the sweetest person I know and would have been a great addition to my wedding experience. Please consider Sarah as your photographer, you will not be disappointed!

I'm serious, after an average wedding day photography experience, I knew I wanted to invest and choose the best for our 10 year anniversary photo shoot. I found many other Hawaii photographers, but Sarah's warm and funny nature shone through on her website and made me feel at ease from 2000 miles away! I booked her about 10 months before our trip, and she was responsive and attentive throughout the lead up to our event. Disappointingly, my spouse and I hit traffic on our way to meet her and missed about half of our scheduled time. However, Sarah was amazingly flexible and found a way to make our time and fading sunlight work! Our photos were absolutely GORGEOUS, and I am absolutely booking her when we're in Hawaii again! She is so sweet, she even showed us around a cool area in town and grabbed a bite to eat with us when our shoot was over, and we had a great time getting to know her. You will not regret selecting Sarah to do your wedding, anniversary, special event, pet, portrait, lifestyle, or any other kind of photography, trust me! She is well worth the investment, and I absolutely cannot say enough about how kind, talented, and simply lovely she is!

I first met Sarah when I was in my friends bridal party, she was amazing at making everyone feel comfortable with all the photos. So, when we got engaged I knew we needed Sarah to be our photographer - in fact we didn't secure the wedding date until we checked with Sarah about her availability. This was one of our best wedding planning decisions. We are loving our photos and they came in faster than expected. Our bridal party also commented on how great Sarah worked with our video vendor and were surprised to learn it was their first time working together. There aren't enough ways to say how awesome Sarah is!

Sarah shot our engagement photos and we couldn't be happier with the results! For two people who are pretty awkward in front of cameras, she was so great at making us feel comfortable. She even played music during the photo shoot (some of my favorite songs btw), which was a great touch. She is such a fun and joyful person, and her charisma was infectious. She has a great eye for backgrounds and she just captured the best laughing/smiling moments of us. I would highly recommend hiring Sarah as your photographer, if not on her personality alone!
