Ross and I had some differing personality styles, but at the end of the day looking back, he really did do exactly what we paid him to do. We knew ahead of time that we were willing to put a big chunk of money into the photography, and it did end up being a pretty large percentage of the whole wedding expense, but the pictures are phenomenal. He dealt with me being kind of a pain in the butt bride pretty well :) We were coming from out of town and he did a good job meeting with us when we were available both before the wedding and afterwards. I previously submitted a review saying I was less than pleased with the way he interacted with our other vendors, but ended up finding out that it was actually the other vendors kind of covering up some of their own mistakes and that Ross worked pretty well around them and regret having said anything bad about him. Especially if you value attention to detail and fantastic quality photos of your big day, I would recommend spending the extra money and going with Ross.

Our photos and album are lovely, and Ross had very good connections with places and people to make scheduling photo sessions quite easy. We wish Ross would have taken more time to make sure that the backgrounds for shots looked better; for instance, visible in portrait shots were trash can that could easily have been moved or a sofa cushion that was sticking up creating a distracting shadow. Yes, he can digitally fix these things...for a price. Since the cost of working with him is high as it is, we wished he would have done more to perfect the portrait shots as they were being taken. Also, Ross does not like to be flexible with this schedule to accommodate an out-of-town bride coming in for portrait shoots. Days and times were on his terms rather than what worked best for us or a compromise. Same issue with selecting album photos. Prices for things outside the package also feel nickel-and-diming and inflexible. So great photos, but more frustrating to get them than I'd wished.
