I absolutely love working with the Kristin and her team at Root Catering. As a wedding planner, it's important to me that I work with other wedding professionals that have integrity, professionalism, and will take care of my clients. Kristin and her staff very responsive, organized, and professional, and courteous. As a wedding planner, I've worked with them on several weddings over the years and my clients are over the moon about the quality of the food and service from Root Catering. I recently had the pleasure of working with them on a wedding and, despite all the challenges this pandemic has brought, they were kind, professional, responsive, flexible, and cognizant of keeping everyone safe. The meal at a wedding can really make or break it and the food was phenomenal and everyone raved how this was the best wedding meal they've ever had. I really appreciate all that that Kristin and the Root Catering team did to keep my clients safe and happy and highly recommend them to anyone needing a caterer. They're very reasonably priced. Root Catering did an all-around stellar job with our July 2018 wedding. We had 140 guests, and used Root for the dinner and our desserts. The owner, Kristin, is the epitome of professionalism, talent, and hard work. What we loved about Root is that collaborating with Kristin feels like you're working with a true chef, not just a caterer. The food and the ingredients come first, and she tackles the menu from a place of what matches your taste, what will be delicious that season, and what will be at its best given your venue and timeline. Her team's work is creative, classy, beautiful, and most importantly, absolutely delicious!! We are from Brooklyn, NY and had a lot of guests who were foodies with strong opinions. You would not believe how many people went out of their way to tell us how impressed they were with the meal. And the dessert? You MUST use their amazing new pastry chef!! My husband is gluten free which can sometimes mean a real bummer in the sweets department, but Root was able to make us the most amazing "Things in Jars" that I don't even think people knew were gluten free! : ) When you have fresh ingredients and a team that knows how to use them, you cannot go wrong. We are so thrilled with our first meal as husband and wife!

In addition to the tremendous skill in the kitchen, Kristin is such a pleasure to work with. She is a businesswoman who treats her clients and her employees honorably and is clearly no-nonsense about running an exceptional company. She is honest, forthright, clear, and flexible. As icing on the cake, she is kind, smart, funny, and just super cool : ) The wedding planning process can be really stressful and overwhelming, and though I didn't know it at the moment we picked her, you NEED someone like Kristin who will make you feel confident and well taken care of. We loved working with Kristin and miss having an excuse to talk to her on the phone every few months!! : ) Thank you, Root! You are the BEST!

We had the pleasure of working with Kristin for longer than most, engaging earlier on in the process hoping that the whopping 4-hour drive from Rochester to our venue wouldn't scare her away. Much to our delight, Kristin excitedly agreed to meet us at our venue for a tasting, we fell in mutual client-vendor love (or at least that's what I call it), and the rest is history!

Needless to say, the Root team is flexible and accommodating. They are quite literally willing to go the distance to make sure that your day and your taste buds are delighted. Speaking of the food—we utilized Root's farm-to-table, locally sourced, family-style offering. We and our guests were blown away by the food, but also by the quality service and level of professionalism Kristin & Root bring to the table (pun intended!)

What else to expect:
- Flexibility: We had a non-traditional, longer-than-usual day planned and Root worked with us to ensure that the team was adequately supported to deliver our vision without blowing our budget.
- Customization: Despite the family-style serving, those guests with special dietary needs were proactively noted and taken care of. Root knew where they were seated and what their needs were ahead of time.
- Creativity: Root came equipped with the eye and supplies to create beautiful displays throughout the property.
- Not your average "wedding food": Expect to go far beyond the typical "chicken, fish, veggie" options.
- An army: with minimal direction, Root knew exactly how to set up and break down all materials.

It's also worth mentioning that Kristin had recently undergone knee surgery prior to our wedding, but her extreme dedication (with doctor's approval, she assured us!) didn't stop her from personally seeing our vision through.

We used Root Catering for our rehearsal dinner/cocktail evening and couldn’t be happier. We worked with Kristin to create a delicious and filling menu, created from mostly local ingredients. We also had several guests with food allergies, which she worked with us on to make sure everyone was fed. All of our guests were raving about the food after, and the service and staff were great as well.
