Root and Wander is a freelance wedding photography business based out of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Just a 20-minute drive from Charlotte, North Carolina, their team is happy to service those hosting special occasions in and around the city. Owner and photographer Annie Chesson, a Charlotte native, is passionate about serving and loving others to the best of her ability. She believes photography is a thoughtful way to do so, by giving people ways to remember one of their most beautiful days. From the dazzling highlights to the small moments and everything in between, Annie will be there to capture it all.
Services Offered
Root and Wander provides several choices of wedding packages so that you can find what fits your needs best. These options include up to 10 hours of coverage on the day, the assistance of a second photographer, and a full online gallery. Annie welcomes you to meet with her for a consultation so that she can get to know your one-of-a-kind vision and style.
Areas Covered
Root and Wander is based out of the greater Charlotte area. Services are happily extended to those celebrating throughout the border between North and South Carolina. Areas covered include Asheville, Raleigh, Greensboro, Columbia, and beyond.

I’m so happy you stumbled upon my website! I’m very grateful to have you here. My husband (Seth), our three kids (Ford, Colton, and Harper), and I live in Fort Mill, South Carolina where we’ve settled down after Seth got out of the Army a few years ago. I’m from Charlotte, which is minutes away from where I live now, and my husband is from Raleigh. We met at Appalachian State University and got married shortly after graduation!
My photography journey began in high school, where I started a small business similar to this (portrait, family, weddings). Shortly after college, I also got into food photography and have had a food blog since 2014 called The Garlic Diaries.
I love people – talking to them, taking pictures of them, connecting with them. It would be an honor to connect with you and your family to capture your special day or special moments. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me!
