For my engagement ring, I have always wanted a pearl, not a diamond. My fiancé knew this, so he went to all the major jewelers, (Kay, Jared, you know) and they were all so rude! They told him "you know your fiancée wants a diamond, right?" No... I actually don't.
But when he went to Rogers and Hollands at the Yorktown mall, they were so incredibly sweet! They thought it was amazing that I wanted something different, and they actually custom made my ring! What's better, is that they warned my fiancé that pearls can fall off, so they triple pronged my ring, and I have NEVER had a problem with it. They gave me special cleaner that won't ruin the binding. The manager's name is John, and he is who made my ring for me, but everyone there is so amazing! They don't frown upon uniqueness and won't try to pressure sell you the most expensive thing. They really want you to be happy with your choice.
The only downside is that if you get insurance, they offer you free sizings and cleanings and touch-ups whenever you want. Sounds great, right? Well unfortunately, they changed who they do business with, so where it usually took two business days to get it sized, they now have to take it away for two WEEKS! So right now, my rings are a little big and I've been dealing with it because I don't want to part with them for that long. But besides that, they're incredible jewelers, and you will definitely be happy with whatever choice you make in rings.
