Following a rewarding 40-year career as a FEMA Hazard Mitigation Specialist I chose an unexpected path after retirement, and opened a new business hosting weddings, events, and lodging on our ranch property. Building on an existing short-term rental business, my grown children and I, both of whom have lengthy hospitality management experience, took a leap of faith and launched Rocking M Ranch Weddings, Events, and Lodging. It's been a whirlwind journey with many long days and nights, and a boatload of fun. We look forward to welcoming you and your loved ones to the ranch!

At 16, I landed a job at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa in Bastrop County not knowing that my life would be catapulted into the hospitality industry for the next 9 years. I worked my way up from barista to server to bartender to assistant manager until I moved away to complete a Master's degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Houston. All while working throughout the greater Houston area at events and in hotels. In 2020, I moved home to assist my mother and brother in our new business venture at Rocking M Ranch. Which has been an absolute delight! If I'm not working, you can usually find me checking out new restaraunts and bars (total foodie/beverage connoisseur), cuddling with our cats and dogs, going to comedy shows, or finding the next adrenaline rush!!

The past 16 years, I've been in and out of the service industry, working for restaurants and catering companies, including a lucrative career as a restaurant manager for Chipotle from 2013-2018. I was promoted five times during my time with Chipotle, including relocating multiple times to open new restaurants all over the state. In 2019, I joined The Big Easy, a private club in Columbus, TX as the general manger of the restaurant on property. I had the opportunity to learn extensive knowledge of high-end spirits and how to execute five-star service for members and their guests. I've had such a great experience in the hospitality industry and I'm so proud of Rocking M Ranch and how far we've come! Anyways, here's some more facts about me: I'm the Houston Astros biggest fan and I watch at least 90% of the games during the season. If you need a 'Stros game to be playing during your time at Rocking M Ranch, I will find a way to make that happen for you! I also really love a good sci-fi flick, a cold beer after a long day, DIY projects, and listening to podcasts during long drives. Overall, I'm the guy that will go the extra mile to ensure you have everything you need for your special day. Satisfaction guaranteed!
