I recently had the pleasure of working with Rhinecliff Event Catering for my wedding and I couldn't be happier with the service and food that James and Sharon provided. From the moment we met with them, they were like family to us. They took the time to get to know us as individuals and really listened to what we wanted for our special day.

The food was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the wedding raved about the variety of dishes and the presentation was top-notch. James and Sharon really went above and beyond by incorporating some of our favorite foods, like ice cream and mozzarella sticks, into the menu. It was such a special touch and really made the event feel personal and unique.

In addition to the great food, James and Sharon were absolute pleasures to work with. They were organized, professional, and always available to answer any questions we had. They made the entire catering process stress-free and were a joy to be around on the day of the wedding.

On the varied journey of booking and planning your wedding, the food and the venue are going to generally be your biggest expense. You look around and you talk to potential caterers and talk about what YOU want - and some will not be flexible, thoughtful or give you the impression that they want your business :)

As soon as i spoke to James at Rhinecliff and he and his team sent back the first iteration of our menus, we were sold. They had listened, incorporated all the elements we asked for (and we had some pretty interesting dietary needs :) ), were so helpful and responsive and could handle the Rehearsal, Wedding Breakfast and Brunch elements perfectly.

When we traveled up for the tasting, we were hopeful that the food standard would be of the same standard! We were immensely happy to see that the food we were served was, in fact, even better than we hoped. Every course was exceptional. The service and way we were treated was of such an amazing level, we were blown away.

To know that all the guests we had invited would be able to eat this food was such an amazing feeling :) To know, furthermore, that those with different dietary requirement, or those with food allergies, were going to have such an amazing range of choices (often not the case!) made us so happy.

And on the weekend, James and his wonderful team delivered the service with class, quiet confidence and added so much to the experience. We cannot thank you ll enough for your part in our happy day - and we can't recommend Rhinecliff Event Catering highly enough for your special day!

James, Sharon, and the staff at Rhinecliff catering were amazing from the beginning to the end of our experience with them. My husband and I were nervous about figuring out who to cater the wedding, and as soon as we met James we felt immediately comfortable, not just because he’s an incredibly personable human being, but because of his professionalism, and the care he so obviously has for quality and his business.

Throughout the planning process, James and Sharon were responsive to and flexible with our suggestions and/or requests, including but not limited to creating a hors d'oeuvre that was meaningful to my husband, and graciously transporting a cake that we purchased from a bakery separate from their catering package. They also were able to make suggestions based on their long catering experiences, which were all excellent.

All of our guests commented on how wonderful the food was (which we already knew) - including our friends who I know are “foodies” and are always critical when we go out to eat. I didn’t have to worry for one second about how they were doing- they had the flow of the whole day planned perfectly.

This city-dwelling bridal couple loved James and his staff, and our guests did, too! Rhinecliff catered our recent Catskills wedding, and the food was incredible! We knew it would be - our sampling and tasting experiences were divine, and the food was scrumptious both times. Our guests especially loved the locally sourced Charcuterie Table (it was such a big hit, they devoured the ENTIRE THING), and the passed hor dourves. Just like Vince Vaughn stated in Wedding Crashers, you must have crab cakes at a wedding and theirs were fantastic. Dinner was great, too! The short rib was the standout winner among the selections but all were good. Also, the goat cheese and beet salad was amazing; not your standard wedding salad. As a bride and groom, it was a relief to work with a chef who had SO MANY DELICIOUS OPTIONS to choose from, even for our vegan/vegetarian guests. And can’t forget the desserts. Great selection of bite sized desserts. The gluten-free, salted caramel brownies are a can’t-miss. If you’re looking for New York City quality dining in Hudson Valley or beyond, look no further. Run, don’t walk, to Rhinecliff to check out James and his catering operation.

It has been a pleasure working with James and the whole Rhinecliff staff for rhinecliff catering (outside of the rhinecliff hotel)! From start to finish, they made my wedding dreams come true! They were able to come into my very tight budget, and offer up reasonable suggestions by laying out pros/cons. Both tastings were incredible and we even stayed one night at the hotel for our initial tasting! They also were amazing the day-of, making sure everyone had what they needed, when they needed it. Special shout out to the staff for always bringing me water with my beer, and for getting us appetizers while we're waiting to come in. Can't say enough good things. Best decision i made was working with them!

Amy and her team were absolutely amazing! From the first moment we met Amy for a tour of the Rhinecliff I knew I'd we'd have a great experience having our wedding there. Super responsive, helpful and accommodating. The venue staff took care of everything day of and allowed my new husband and I to enjoy the day we'd prepared for without worrying about all of the small things. Thank you so much Amy and crew for a day we'll never forget!

This review is long overdue! We got married in October 2016 and could not have been happier with our decision to go with The Rhinecliff to cater our wedding. We were married at The Senate Garage in Kingston, NY which was a brand new "blank space" venue, and James and his staff made sure that every detail of the day was taken care of. We planned our wedding from FL and they made sure to accommodate our schedule for tastings around our travel plans up to NY. I was skeptical and had asked James if I needed an event coordinator, as another friend recently was married at a similar "blank space" location and highly recommended I get one to coordinate the deliveries and day of details. James reassured us we would not need one and he was 100% right, you do not need an event coordinator with James, he took care of EVERYTHING for us including helping to facilitate delivery of the rentals, schedule of events, and helped to keep everyone on the time schedule. Due to an incident at the venue which delayed our ceremony by 30 minutes, James and his staff were gracious enough to extend their services an extra half hour to ensure that we didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy every minute of our wedding. James and his staff are very professional and definitely know what they are doing! A lot of our guests were from NYC and are serious "foodies" and they were raving about how delicious the food was and how they never had such a tasty meal at a wedding before. We highly HIGHLY recommend them for your catered event!

We cannot say enough amazing things about Rhinecliff's catering! First and foremost, the food is delicious. We decided upon family-style and everything on the menu was incredible. Two tastings prior to your big day is included, so you have plenty of time to give James ides and what you are thinking, taste everything and then tweak the menu some more - they are so accommodating. They also came with ALL the furniture which really helped with our budget. And speaking of budget, James was so respectful and did everything within his power to stay within our budget - which he did. And everything was still as tasteful and incredible without any superfluous costs. (Thank you so much, James!!!)

Rhinecliff worked our entire wedding weekend - rehearsal dinner, wedding, day-after brunch - and the staff was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and accountable for everything we asked of them. Whether it was to get more booze for our a-bit-too-rowdy rehearsal dinner, making sure all of the bride's and groom's needs were met on the wedding day and for helping us out with a few surprises throughout the weekend (and extra vendor meal here, an extra cake-cutting there) - Rhinecliff never said "no" and never stopped smiling!!

James is sometimes hard to get a hold of, but if he is not around, it is because he is giving his 100% to another lucky couple to have his expertise and he will always get back to you eventually! You won't be upset about this when it is your turn to receive his full and undivided attention :)
