When I started looking for a photographer for my wedding I wanted to find someone that my fiance and I would vibe with since we would be spending a lot of time together. From the initial conversation with Rachel I knew that she would be the perfect photographer to capture our day. She is extremely personable and professional. My fiance and I were a little nervous about our engagement photos because we didn't want to appear awkward. Rachel made us feel so confident and natural during our session. We did our session in Lancaster city and it was like we were just hanging out with our friend taking pictures. She gave us great prompts to capture our natural smiles/laughs and get rid of any insecurities. We felt like we looked like freakin models when we got our engagement photos back! They exceeded all of our expectations! Rachel was super responsive through emails and texting the week of the wedding. She pays extremely close attention to detail and had so many great recommendations for picture locations.
Let me tell you about the day of our wedding..
I seriously could not have asked for a better person to photograph our wedding. Even our second photographer Madeline was amazing.
Rachel and Madeline both vibed so well with our group! Ryan and I felt super confident during our pictures. Everything ran so smoothly. I was super impressed with how well our family photos went because I was a little stressed making sure everyone got to the photos on time. Rachel made sure we were in and out with those photos so that we could go enjoy the remaining time in our cocktail hour.
She made me feel like a badass with a few of the photos that we took and I cannot wait to see the results! I added a few last minute photo requests day of and she made it happen. For the most part I left all photo recommendations to her and that was probably the best thing to do because she knows EXACTLY what she is doing. Leave those photo lists at home, you do not need it. I had such an amazing day and having Rachel as our photographer made a huge impact on how great our day turned out. I HIGHLY recommend her and hope to use her again in the future.

Where do I even begin to describe how amazing our experience booking with Rachel was!! Rachel’s work is way beyond any photographer I have ever used in the past. We hired Rachel for our wedding and engagement photos . She really brought every vision to life on what we wanted and had the BEST locations on where to shoot and what time. We did photos in my hometown and I was BLOWN away with the quality and outcome of the pictures. Not only was her work truly amazing, but her communication, her planning and even her vibe when shooting us was nothing to compare to!! You can tell she loves what she does and got to know us as a couple throughout the whole process. We didn’t feel like a number , we truly felt as a photographer she got to know us as a couple and was so adamant about making our engagement and wedding photos exactly what we wanted.

We did an elopement package with Rachel and had a micro wedding in the mountains of Wyoming with 12 people…and let me tell you. SHE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. Our wedding photos could not have been more perfect, again I was blown away that I felt to look back on these perfect photos forever.
Rachel was the one to help chose the ceremony location for our elopement and work with us on our visions. She had endless options for us on different ceremony locations and timeframes and even sent pictures and videos in real time of what the locations would look like before days before the wedding. Rachel went above and beyond and I can’t leave express how much we loved working with her.

If you’re trying to decide on a photographer for any occasion, this is your sign, book right now…..you will be so happy you chose her. Rachel is seriously the best , she has the sweetest soul, she is so fun to work with and I’m happy to say we will be lifetime customers. I can’t say enough positive things about the experience we had with Rachel.

From the second my husband and I saw Rachel’s work, we were in love with it. The way her style compliments the vibe of The Booking House was absolutely perfect. We first met her at our engagement shoot in Harrisburg where she met us for drinks prior to getting us in front of the camera. This was the first time either of us had been professionally photographed but Rachel made us feel completely at ease and guided us through the entire evening. We simply cannot say enough amazing things about her. She is incredibly responsive, transparent, professional, talented, and a great time. With her, our entire wedding day went smoothly, our sneak peaks were AMAZING, and we cannot wait to see the rest of the magic she worked!

I have so many amazing things to say about Rachel! She captured our wedding day perfectly. Both my husband and I agreed that the most comfortable and relaxed part of the day was taking pictures. Rachel was not only our wedding photographer but she became our friend. Starting from when we asked her to drive to Shenandoah National Park for our engagement pictures to our wedding day. She checked in on us the days leading up to our wedding and made sure we felt good and ready. Rachel portrayed our vision perfectly and gave us incredible images to last a lifetime.

From the very first meeting with Rachel, we knew she was going to be the perfect fit to photograph our special day. She is so creative and knows exactly what to do and where to go. Trusting her to just do her thing was the best decision ever and made the day go so smoothly, and made the photos even better! I really did not have to think about a single thing when it came to our photos, location, etc. bc I knew she just got it. She was always flexible, responsive and the most patient with the last minute changes we had. Rachel gives off the best vibes and is all around such a great person! We will cherish our photos forever!

Okay first off, writing a review that completely captures how wonderful someone is, is difficult; I could honestly go on and on. Rachel's professionalism, personality, TALENT, eye, and style were/are simply unmatched. Both my husband and I feel so lucky to have worked with Rachel. We were planning our wedding on the opposite coast and had never met Rachel (in person) prior to our wedding (a little nerve-racking for sure) but that never even crossed our minds on our big day. We had monthly zooms and Rachel was always an email or text away...she made us feel so comfortable that by the end of our big day we wanted to grab beers and tacos with her! If I could recommend one vendor from our wedding, it would be Rachel Ruhl. If you're lucky enough to book her...book her...JUST DO IT. We couldn't have imagined having a better photographer with us on our journey down to our wedding day. She has so much talent and we still can't get enough of our photos - and either can our guests. She captured the special moments so eloquently and the party so PERFECTLY. And we partied! We can't wait to have something else for Rachel to photograph. We are forever grateful to have met such a special person. Rachel - thank you from the bottom of our hearts - we are happy to call you a friend, more than anything!  

Words fail me. Rachel is by far the best, most talented photographer and it absolutely blows me away every single time!! Of course, you can tell that by just looking at her utterly stunning pictures, but what you don't get to see is the time, attention, and kindness that she puts into each and every client. She was the vendor that I felt so comfortable with that when she showed up on my wedding day I got so excited to see her like she was a friend that I hadn't seen in awhile!! I cannot thank her enough for the ease I felt on my wedding day knowing that my pictures were going to be perfect. Her style of photography completely fits our vibe and it made our day look even more dreamy than I could have imagined. It won’t take you long to see through the examples just how talented Rachel is as a photographer, as they say the proof is in the pudding! Photography was my number ONE priority when we started booking vendors- it was/is so important to us to have these memories documented for us to look back on. I met Rachel at the one & only bridal show hosted by the Booking House I was able to go to before Covid shut the world down. We instantly clicked because we found out we had a crazy connection to one another completely by fate. I went to the show with very specific vendors in mind to speak with, however after meeting Rachel & watching how she approached potential clients and just the genuine kindness that radiated off her I quickly started to shift my mind. She was hosting a raffle and typically I don’t ever enter things like that because I NEVER win but yet again fate had different plans because a few days later I was contacted by Rachel & I had won! After setting up my initial meeting with her just to go over basic information it was pretty clear to me that she was going to be the perfect fit for our wedding day. My husband is a very quiet and reserved man- we both are not huge fans of being the center of attention and we NEVER get our photos taken so when choosing vendors I knew we needed people who would be able to capture both of us perfectly exactly as we are (& help guide us through the awkwardness of never being in front of a camera). All of that said- asking Rachel to be our photographer was the absolute BEST decision we could have made. The first time we got to spend time with her was during our engagement shoot & she “got” us right away from our vibe to our humor, everything! It was important to us to have some photos taken in our home with our cat and RIGHT away she became besties with Goose! It didn’t feel like we were having someone new take our photos- it instantly just felt like a few friends hanging out enjoying some laughs and because of that she was able to capture EXACTLY who we are. She is the perfect mixture of fun & professionalism- this gal KNOWS what she's doing and has an amazing talent for making you feel great even if you feel silly. She was our cheerleader throughout the entire planning process- every time we would send little updates to one another she was genuinely excited for us & on the day of the wedding she came right up to me and gave me a big hug(probably realizing that’s exactly what I needed at the moment she’s that intuitive!). She started snapping right away and every moment she had she was checking up on me and my girls making sure if we needed absolutely anything she would make it happen. Again- her work speaks for itself, she has a gift & we are lucky she is sharing it with us all. Everyone, my husband and I especially, are blown away by what we’ve seen so far, it takes a lot for me to look at a picture of myself and think I’m beautiful but Rachel helped make that happen. For anyone considering working with Rachel for any reason- I tell you to JUMP at the opportunity because you not only will receive amazing results- you’ll get the most wonderful friend as well. Planning your wedding should not be stressful and you should be oozing happiness on your day and I believe the BEST way to accomplish that is by surrounding yourself with GOOD people & Rachel is 100000000000%+ that! Where do I even begin?! Aside from her photography aesthetic matching our whole vibe, Rachel as a person is truly one of a kind. From the moment we began working with Rachel we knew we had made the right choice. She was so professional and kind from the initial inquiry all the way through our wedding day! We both felt so comfortable reaching out to her with any random questions leading up to the big day. She was beyond helpful when developing our timeline, and really helped us prioritize so we could get the photos we wanted while still being able to enjoy every bit of our wedding. Due to covid, we were unable to do the engagement session we planned, so our first-time meeting Rachel in person was our wedding but we felt like we had already known her forever!

On our wedding day she and the second photographer, Heidi, showed up right on time and got to work immediately. Rachel’s calming energy was exactly what I needed that day in the bridal suite! She truly was my personal hype-woman throughout the day making me feel even more confident than I already did! I was blown away by the way she was able to use different spaces in the small hotel room to make all our details (rings, ring box, invitation, etc) POP! When it was time for me to get my gown on, she made those moments between my sisters and I so very special.

Rachel made sure to do her own research on the locations in Old City Philadelphia that we would be taking photos for first look and photos before the ceremony, and it really showed! She was just as familiar with the locations as I was from her research, and we were able to navigate around the city in uber’s with ease to get the locations that my husband and I wanted for our photos. She was so great with giving us creative direction to make sure she captured all the unique and creative aspects that she wanted for us without any awkward moments!

We’ve only seen sneak peeks so far but what we have seen we are absolutely blown away by. The moodiness of her photos has always awed me, and she was able to capture that aesthetic perfectly with our photos. I had NO doubts she would!!! All our guests commented on how the photographers were so present but not over-taking and obstructing the views of any of the guests. I even saw photos the next day of Rachel lighting our candles down the aisle!! She is truly SO thoughtful and helpful, as well as Heidi, they both bustled my dress at some point in the night- ha!

I cannot recommend Rachel enough! She was able to capture the most important day of our lives perfectly, all while being SUCH AN AWESOME person to be spend our wedding day with! My husband and I truly feel like we left our wedding with a new friend. Don’t think twice- Book Rachel Ruhl Photography for your wedding day!!!!

I truly cannot speak highly enough of Rachel. My partner and I knew that photography was the most important part of our wedding (other than, like, the actual getting married part), and we spent a ton of time poring over local photographers. Rachel was one of the photographers recommended by our venue, and when I checked out her website, I knew she was the one. A lot of wedding photography is bright and airy—which is beautiful—but Rachel isn't afraid of shadows. Her photos are dramatic and romantic and real; she captures the moments between the moments, the little smirks and side-eyes. We wanted our photos to be special. Rachel is special. Every photo feels like an heirloom image. She was also absolutely wonderful to work with, funny and relaxed and with an incredible talent to make us feel comfortable and fabulous. We'd hire her again and again and again.
