Rabbi Marcey is fantastic. She spent a ton of time with me and my husband before the wedding going over every detail and explaining the importance of each custom to us (and letting us choose which ones to include as she got to know us), which was especially important to my husband. She made sure the ceremony was meaningful and so deeply personalized to us—each decision really felt like ours. Rabbi Marcey had each of us write why we want to spend the rest of our lives with the other person, and she read our responses as part of the ceremony. It was so deeply moving and personal. Many friends and family said it was the best ceremony they’d ever seen—familiar, intimate, and warm while not being too serious. I will say that the ceremony was a bit longer than expected, but everyone said it didn’t feel that long at all. Lastly, it’s worth noting that she was able to start the ketubah signing right at sundown, which I know is sometimes hard to find with more Conservative rabbis. You cannot go wrong with Rabbi Marcey!

I cannot praise Rabbi Marcey enough! From our first email communications with Rabbi Marcey to our first call she was to welcoming and excited to work with us. I was determined to show respect to my husband’s family and his religious upbringing, just as he had done for me and Rabbi Marcey made that happen for us. Not only did she meet with us several times throughout the year of planning, but she also sent us questionnaires that she used to create the ceremony we wanted. I knew I had wanted her to perform our ceremony quickly after reading raving reviews, but when she told my husband and I that she would more than love to coordinate our ceremony with my Hindu priest, I was so impressed. To have Rabbi Marcey be so open and willing to do that solidified our desire to have her officiate our ceremony and what a BEAUTIFUL, heartfelt, emotional, and engaging ceremony it was. I truly hope that our videographer was able to capture all of it because it was just so amazing. She had the guests laughing and crying along. She explained every detail of the ceremony and our guests appreciated that so much. Her attention to detail is impeccable. She incorporated conversations we had had with her so beautifully into our ceremony. I also appreciated her prayers for my dad incorporated into the ceremony, as he had been hospitalized the morning of our wedding. After the ceremony and throughout this week, I have had several people complement our ceremony and how engaging and wonderful Rabbi Marcey was. The only adverse thing I can say is that Rabbi Marcey was so determined to make sure we experienced the yichud, that I never got to say goodbye to her and thank her for giving us such a beautiful and memorable ceremony. I hope that my husband and I have the pleasure of working with Rabbi Marcey again in the future!

My husband and I were looking for a rabbi that could blend our different jewish upbringings together and Rabbi Marcey was absolutely perfect for the job. She has such a warm and welcoming personality and takes the time to get to know you before the ceremony. She also walked us through all of the components of a jewish wedding ceremony and we were able to customize a ceremony that fit my reform style and my husbands conservative style wonderfully. All of our guests, even those who have never been to a jewish wedding, were blown away with our ceremony and we owe that praise 100% to Rabbi Marcey. She made the ceremony funny and sweet with many personal touches to our connection as a couple. You will be in good hands if you choose her as an officiant for your wedding!

My wife and I cannot say enough nice things about Rabbi Marcey! As one can imagine, planning a wedding is not easy. But she made this aspect seamless. We had multiple meetings (virtual and in-person) prior to our big day. She laid everything out in a clear and concise way and took time to answer all of our questions. Rabbi Marcey was very friendly and helpful prior to the wedding. We had a few meetings virtually and she was very organized and answered our questions and provided us with the information we needed. During the ceremony, Rabbi Marcey worked very well with the priest as they had worked together in the past. They blended the Jewish and Catholic traditions together perfectly. Several people told us it was a very beautiful ceremony.

Rabbi Marcey was the best decision we made for our wedding. I cannot tell you how many of my guests came up to me afterwards to tell me that this was the most amazing ceremony they had ever witnessed. From the very start, she took the time to get to know us over multiple Zoom meetings, fielding all of our questions and sharing her knowledge, for however long it took. After all, we had no idea what we were doing in the beginning, so she took us through all of the steps. She took the time to educate us on the significance of every Jewish tradition that went into our ceremony. She has a kind and nurturing demeanor, and these meetings were lots of fun. We trusted that we were in good hands right from the start and we were so completely right.
Our ceremony had all of the requisite Jewish elements in it that were executed flawlessly by Rabbi Marcey. Like she told us she would, she told the audience the meaning behind every tradition. She has a beautiful singing voice. The ceremony was both educational and beautiful to the ear.
I’m saving the best part for last. Our ceremony was personalized in such a way that my distant relatives now know who I am and who my partner is. Early on, Rabbi Marcey asked us as our “homework” to write her why we want to spend the rest of our lives together. She brought these excerpts to life in the ceremony---there was nothing cliché whatsoever about what we had to say about one another. Our unique identities shined through our words by way of Rabbi Marcey. She painted a picture of what a loving couple we are and showed our guests why we are so perfect together. This was unlike any other ceremony out there and better than anything we could have hoped for. Thank you Rabbi Marcey from the bottom of our hearts for such an unforgettable event.

We found Marcey through Unorthodox Celebrations and couldn't have been happier! As an interfaith couple, she did a wonderful job explaining the traditional Jewish elements of the wedding ceremony and respecting our wishes/vision for the ceremony. Rabbi Marcey's officiating was one of the highlights of our wedding. We had both a Catholic ceremony in a church and a Jewish ceremony at the reception venue. While that might sound like a lot of ceremonies, Rabbi Marcey made it informative and entertaining for all of our guests, and touching and beautiful for my wife and I. She was very helpful throughout the entire process answering questions and even going out of her way to help us get a custom Ketubah.
