About

Queens County Farm Museum is a 47-acre landmark working farm in New York City that dates back to 1697. This site was saved from development in 1973, thus preserving a living example of Queens County’s agrarian history for generations to come. Today, our fields are more productive than ever – our farmers use organic growing methods to grow a wide variety of flowers, vegetables, and fruits for market. We also raise a variety of livestock, with an emphasis on heritage breeds. Our commitment to cultivating healthy food and beautiful space is just as important as our commitment to providing you with the highest quality service for your event.

Queens Farm offers several site rental options; from intimate commitment ceremonies to large events, we have a variety of locations to suit your specific needs. Whether in our Barn, North Lawn, Pavilion, or Orchard space, you and your guests will be surrounded by the bucolic scenery of our farm without ever leaving the city.

We offer ample time for set up so you can achieve the vision you had planned for on your big day. On weekends, you are invited to set up from 10:00 am onward. Monday through Friday, private event set up is allowed from 1:30 pm onward. We offer a private space either as a gathering/getting ready area for your wedding party or VIP room.

Our friendly private event staff will ensure that your event runs smoothly from start to finish. They will guide your guests to parking, tidy up the restrooms throughout your event, and dispose of garbage. Our staff strives to offer a well-maintained space for you and your guests.

To further enhance your experience, we offer tractor-drawn hayrides and animal feeding for you and all of your guests to enjoy. We encourage you to reach out to learn more about how Queens Farm can help you create your unforgettable wedding day!

We had an outdoor wedding under a tent on the North Lawn and held our ceremony on the Orchard. It was BEAUTIFUL. The staff was fantastic and they were very flexible and accommodating. They let us bring in all of our own vendors. Our guests loved exploring the property during cocktail hour and getting a chance to feed the animals. It was a great evening.

I had my wedding here on June 20th and it was so amazing. As a child I grew up coming to this farm and attending the Indian Pow wow every year. This was also my grandmas favorite place, so when she passed away a few years ago it made so much sense to me to have my wedding here. It is such an important part of my upbringing. The grounds are beautiful and when you book your wedding there you have access to the whole farm for pictures all day. The only downside is that they do not close the farm down during your wedding and other events can be hosted the same day, However, everyone stays out of your way and I hardly noticed anyone else on the farm. It still felt very intimate. Maria, who is in charge of the wedding bookings there was very helpful and always answered all of my questions, no matter how many e mails I sent her. She was patient and very accommodating. The farm usually has a no pet policy but they were kind enough to lift it for the time of the ceremony so that I could include my dog in the event. We did hayrides during cocktail hour and sparklers at the end of the night. Everyone has SO much fun and I have not stopped getting compliments about how we had the best wedding people have ever been to. The only thing I must mention is that if you are not a crafty, organized, or do it yourself type of person this venue may not be for you. Once you book the venue the only thing supplied are chairs and tables or benches for the pavilion. So everything else you are pretty much on your own with. I had to hire people to set up, family and friends cooked, i needed to provide alcohol and get a beer and wine license, and I created many of my own decorations. For me this was exactly what I wanted, but if this is not your thing you may want to double think it. All in all my wedding was exactly what I wanted and more. I am so happy I went with Queens County Farm.

We had both our Ceremony and Reception at the Farm and it was awesome. Unique setting and everything went off without a hitch. Maria was great from start to finish and the staff for the day was very accommodating to our needs. It was a beautiful place and we are very happy we chose such a pictures place.

I'm not sure why this is categorized as being in Manhattan when it is in Queens, NY.... Anyways, I loved the farm from years ago and when I found out you could have a wedding there, I was on it. It is very DIY unless you hire people to do everything for you. The farm left out the number of tables and chairs we requested and the morning of the wedding, we set up ourselves. It is so pretty, different and intimate. We were never a flashy catering hall couple and this was perfect. Our guests loved it and loved seeing the scenery and animals. The site coordinator, Maria, was great to talk to and had no problem answering any questions. You can choose to have a hay ride for your event and/or you can also purchase food for the animals for guests to use. We had a great time.

Queens County Farm Museum was a wonderful venue for our wedding. It was a beautiful setting for our outdoor ceremony, and the barn offered a spacious, well-lit, and homey environment for our reception/party.

The service was excellent. Throughout the entire planning process their staff was quick to respond to emails and phone calls, and were polite, informative and helpful anytime we had a question or concern. On the day of the event the Farm provided support staff to direct cars to the free parking locations, and a staff member to be on hand should we need help with lights, air conditioning, location of ladders, and anything else.

The price is EXCELLENT, and we paid for the animal feed and feeding zoo, which was incredibly fun for all ages.

The only thing I suggest before booking the venue is that you make sure that you are interested in a DIY wedding. When you book this venue you are very much booking a VENUE. Our caterer was a separate vendor (the farm has an excellent kitchen and preparation space for outside caterers to use though), we handled all decorations and flowers ourselves, and we hired a DJ & photographer. The Farm however does provide an ample supply of tables and chairs for the reception barn (chairs for outdoor use for a ceremony are not provided. We rented ours from an outside vendor.)

All in all, HIGHLY recommended, if you want a venue that is close to nature, fun, inviting, professional, and designed for you to make your own. Not for those who are looking for an all-in-one package.

Being from Texas, I have lived in NYC for almost eight years now and my now husband is from Long Island, I wanted to find a venue in New York that kinda felt like home. I found that in 47 acres on a farm in Queens. It's such a great venue for anyone looking to diy! Mary, the event contact at the farm is very responsive and got back to me via email same day. And the farm staff that worked my wedding were very helpful and attentive. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out at the farm and it's been about 3 weeks since and guest are still talking about the wedding!

The Queens County Farm Museum was an excellent place to have our wedding. We had A LOT of kids at the wedding and the farm was really fun for them. We paid a little extra to have hayrides and the kids (and grownups) loved them. The farm staff was laid back but helpful. Throughout the process, I communicated with Maria who was responsive via email and phone. My one complaint is that we paid extra for "animal feedings" to happen for the kids as well and that did not happen. I did not realize that until the next dayand was disappointed about it. Other than that, an excellent venue.

I have my wedding over the weekend at the Queens County Farm Museum. We had the ceremony outdoors (luckily the weather cooperated) and the reception in their barn reception space. The room is a decent size and excellent for a wedding of about 100 people with room for a dance floor (we had closer to 90 and they filled up the space well). The property is beautiful and people were able to wander around before and after the ceremony, see the farm, and even feed the animals during cocktail hour. It's fun that such a different wedding venue is close to NYC (although it's not great for public transportation, so we did end up hiring a shuttle).

Maria and everyone else we worked with at the farm were very easy to work with. The provided on site staff during the wedding who were also very helpful. I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone looking to have a farm wedding but still have easy access to the city for in town and out of town guests.

A beautiful venue if you're interested in hiring vendors individually (or doing things yourself)! Lori was friendly and helpful to work with, and while the clean-up staff may have rushed us a tad at the end, they were also very friendly and helpful. They also have really neat extras available for small additional charges: animal feeding (which we got), hayrides (which we didn't), and honey from the farm's bees to use as favors (we got that too).

Serving alcohol is a bit of an adventure, although apparently it always works out: the farm doesn't have a license for it, so you need to get your own temporary license from the state, or get a vendor who has one. The state seems to wait for the last minute to approve the license, almost no matter how far in advance you file. Lori was helpful in explaining that and providing additional documentation, but it did add extra stress to an otherwise smooth process.

Overall, a great experience at a great venue.
