Platinum DJ & Photobooth is owned and operated by Thomas and Laurie Kuerlemann, a husband and wife team who really love what they do … and it shows! Thomas loves music. He has been a musician all his life, and played the piano and bass with one of the top 8-piece wedding bands on Long Island when he started his career in 1990. He learned the in’s and out’s of the wedding industry and honed his skills in reading a crowd and becoming a professional entertainer in the Hudson Valley, NY. Additionally, he learned lighting and sound production from some of the best in the business. Thomas started his own DJ company because he wanted to give brides more options than just hiring a band for their wedding. This allowed him to really personalize couple's receptions and to get out in the crowd and engage the guests, getting them actively involved in the fun and excitement.
Laurie was a prominent member and vocalist of the same 8-piece band as Thomas. That’s how Thomas and Laurie met, and eventually fell in love and got married. Laurie’s years in the wedding industry had her in the spotlight, emceeing and guiding the flow, creating flawless and seamless events that guests won’t soon forget. Laurie’s warm and upbeat personality along with her knowledge and experience in wedding planning makes her the perfect emcee and wedding entertainment director for your event! Laurie’s genuine love for music and fun really shines through at every event and energetically engaging guests to join in the celebration.
We specialize in uniquely personalized wedding receptions because every couple is different. We offer (2) packages, "MEMORABLE NIGHTS" and "REGAL AFFAIR". Additionally, we offer a large variety of personalized "add-on" options for you to choose from. You can keep your affair simple or make it as elegant and sophisticated as you want. . . it's really that easy and the choice is always yours! We find that more and more couples are enjoying the experience of being able to tailor their musical needs for their once-in-a-lifetime event rather than being limited to "prepackaged" deals that may or may not have what the couple is looking for. - “How To Be The Perfect Host” as taught by Jim Cerone, a leader in the wedding industry,

- “The Best Wedding Reception. . . Ever!” seminars hosted by Peter Merry, author, public speaker, Wedding Entertainment Director, Professional Master of Ceremonies and a leading consultant in the wedding industry.
We've served over 1,000 couples in our 15 years in business. We’ve maintained very good relationships with our past brides (some even have become very close friends of ours).
