Perfect Choice!
We had the best experience with Platinum DJ & Photobooth! From our first meeting with Laurie, we knew we'd made the right choice. She and Thomas took our vision and ran with it, creating a custom template for the photobooth that matched our invitations and making sure that our guests were dancing and singing along all night long! They were definitely the perfect team to add to our special day. -

Don't Hesitate, Just Book Them!!
Laurie deserves six stars if it were possible. Andrew and I had such a stunning wedding with Platinum DJ. Laurie is attentive, caring, and an excellent MC. All of our guests have told us over and over how much fun they had at our wedding, and I attribute so much of that to Laurie. She responded exceptionally well and adapted to unforeseen rescheduling and kept the party flowing smoothly. At our preparation meeting, I loved talking with her and I could tell that it was her mission to provide the best wedding experience for my (now) husband and I. Finally, she enabled me to surprise him with a serenade that came through perfectly. Laurie was recommended (not sponsored) by our venue, and I completely understand why. Don't have any doubts about Platinum DJ, just book them! -

Laurie was such a pleasure to work with! She helped bring our vision to life. If you’re a hockey fan and it happens to fall on your wedding day she will make sure to play the goal horn when your team scores, Let’s go islanders! The game played was so much fun too!! I loved having her as my dj and highly recommend her for your next event! She played all of my top songs it was like I was back in the club again! A great day and she helped add to it! -

Exceptional Wedding DJ Services!

Uh-mazing!
My husband and I are so glad we went with Thomas and Laurie for our wedding! Laurie went above and beyond to make a great experience for us. She had great ideas for games to do while everyone was eating dinner and she was on point with what we wanted for our song choices. She is a great entertainer and we would recommend them to anyone for any kind of event! -

DJ Platinum absolutely is the reason we had so many special and sentimental moments. They added in extras that everyone thought was so cool. They paid attention to every single detail we requested and went over and above our expectations. One of a Kind, Personalized Wedding Hosts
I call Platinum DJ & Photobooth "one of a kind, personalized wedding hosts" because they are just that. Laurie and Thomas are not just a DJ service...They're not just a photobooth service...They're not just officiants....They're wedding hosts. My (now) husband and I found them on the knot and after having an hour(+/-) zoom call with Laurie- our decision to contract them was a NO BRAINER! While on the call, the questions Laurie asked us led me to believe she was a marriage counselor- upon me asking if she was, she said no, but I am an officiant. We did not have an officiant at that time and as soon as Laurie shared that detail with us, we added that service onto our wedding as well. So Laurie officiated our ceremony, MC'd the reception, got everyone on the dance floor and played an amazing set of music all night- while Thomas ran the sound during the ceremony and worked his tail off in the photobooth, etc. Now you know why I see them as WAY more than just a part of your vendor line up. Our wedding was a BLAST! Our dance floor was PACKED ALL NIGHT! The photobooth had people in it NON-STOP! And by the end of the night, Matt and I were feeling even more blown away by their love and compassion POURED into our special day...way more than we could have imagined. If you're looking for a truly customized wedding experience- hire Thomas and Laurie- You will not be disappointed. Plus- the value of their offerings are well above any other competitor in the Charlotte area. -

Laurie was amazing! She also officiated our ceremony and did a great job making us feel comfortable! She was easy to work with and communicated very well with us leading up to our wedding day. Best dj ever!
Laurie did an amazing job on our wedding on 5.27.22. She understood exactly the look and feel of not only our wedding, but our relationship. She took the time to get to know us and our family to give us our dream reception. Not only did she give us our perfect first dance, but my grandparents finally got the first dance they never got to have when they got married 45 years ago because of Laurie! She will forever remain a friend of mine.

Laurie is amazing and we were beyond happy with having her as our DJ for our wedding! I HIGHLY recommend them! She is such a pleasure to work with. She was super responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. On the day of our wedding she was professional and SO personable! I felt like she was our friend helping us throw the most amazing party. Her energy is so warm and inviting and she played the best music! Platinum DJ is a family ran company and I couldn't imagine supporting any other business than that because it truly shows; quality of service is incomparable. Great Wedding DJ
Thomas & Laurie did our wedding on 10/16/21 and they were amazing! They DJ'ed, did our photobooth, cocktail hour music, ceremony mics, and set up extra lighting in our reception hall - everyone could not stop talking about what a great job they did. Laurie was always in great communication with us and had tons of excellent song recommendations for us to make our wedding even more special. Definitely get the photobooth! It was a huge hit! -

So much fun!
From beginning to end, this was a fantastic experience. Thomas & Laurie took my vision (with little direction) and made our photobook template true perfection. And then wedding day arrives and Amanda & Maverick were the sweetest. All the guests talked about how great they were. Honestly couldn't have asked for it to have been any better. We would absolutely recommend Platinum DJ & Photobooth for any event. -

They were absolutely amazing! Laurie made everything so easy for us and gave us so many great recommendations that we used at our wedding! Laurie also married us, and she did an amazing job with our ceremony, it was perfect. There were times throughout the reception where she would tell our group what to do and where to go (which we needed!!). The best choice you can make
My wife and I chose Platinum Party Events for our wedding on September 2nd, and it was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Laurie was an expert at reading the room and keeping everyone moving, and during the planning process she was nothing but helpful, and easy to contact. I would highly recommend choosing them, to take some stress out of the process. -

The dance floor was full all night!
I can't express enough how amazing Laurie was as our DJ for our wedding in September. Laurie was the first and only DJ we called. She made us laugh, she asked about me and my husband, she made us feel incredibly comfortable with her. She coordinated perfectly with our wedding coordinator and the night could not have gone smoother. The music was perfect the entire night and we didn't want it to end! The dance floor was full the entire night and it truly was a spectacular night. I would recommend Laurie without a doubt. She helped make our wedding the most perfect day and I am so thankful for having her on our special day. -

Platinum Party Events did an amazing job as DJ at our wedding reception.
All of our requested songs were played and Platinum Party Events did a great job of picking fun, upbeat songs to fill the remainder of our reception. We never felt like there was any “dead time” and the dancefloor was filled for the majority of our reception.
They handed out beaded necklaces to everyone on the dancefloor, which reenergized a lot of our younger cousins and put a big smile on everyone’s faces. I can’t say enough how awesome it was to have so many people constantly on the dancefloor. We have been to other wedding receptions where the dancefloor was empty and it was a little awkward, but our reception was the complete opposite.
In the months before our reception, we were worried about working our requested songs into the event timeline, but Laurie made herself available for phone calls before the reception to confirm pronunciations, songs, etc. And the Platinum Party Events website was very easy to navigate and enter in bridal party names, song choices, etc.
You often hear of people talking about things going wrong at their wedding reception, but we wouldn’t have changed a single thing. Platinum Party Events was an important part of our wedding reception and helped everything go smoothly from the introductions to the first dance to the cake cutting.

These people know what they are doing. Laurie DJ'd our wedding but did so much more than just that. She was with us during the planning process from the get go. She was interested and immersed in our ideas and themes and helped us to explore how to make them even better. She was so enthusiastic and helpful that it felt like planning a great big party with a good friend. Her personal touch, while never escaping the boundaries of professionalism, was arguably the best part. We definitely recommend this service to anyone as we had zero issues, complications, or reservation after working with them. They are the best......period! -

Laurie was our DJ for my wedding in May and she was wonderful! Before the wedding she periodically checked in to see if we had any questions and tell us what needed to be done. Right before the wedding, we spoke and she laid out every detail. The day of the wedding she kept the party going all night. It was truly a wonderful night! -

Platinum Party Events was absolutely phenomenal. I could not say enough wonderful things about Their services and neither could my guests. Thomas and Laurie are the nicest people and provided the most unique photo booth that we've ever seen for our wedding! My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Thomas and Laurie at a bridal show and we fell in love with their Magic Mirror Photo Booth. It was so unique and different from the ordinary photo booth. We loved the fact that you can see yourself in the mirror and that way you can see how you look for the picture. We also loved the fact that you could write on the mirror when you were done taking pictures that would print on the photos! Also unique was that 3 pictures printed out on one photo! The props that they provided too were really fun.Thomas and Laurie were very nice and accommodating to our needs. They made a one of a kind photo template for our wedding! Their Magic Mirror Photo Booth was a big hit at our wedding and I highly recommend Platinum Party Events for your wedding or any event! -

The decision to choose Platinum Party Events was an easy one, especially after talking with Laurie on the phone for the first time. We knew that we wanted a no-frills DJ experience for our wedding with a vendor that would listen to our requests but also be willing to improvise a bit; we got both with Platinum Party Events. Aside from a few songs that we knew we definitely did and did not want played, we didn’t have a set theme in mind; after meeting with us in person for about an hour and discussing the types of music we like and dislike, Laurie was able to come up with a perfect playlist for each event during our wedding. The end result was a great evening filled with memorable music that fit our personalities and tastes perfectly and kept everyone dancing and entertained the whole time. We got many compliments on how great the music was. We can’t recommend them enough. If you’re looking for a great, affordable DJ who will absolutely nail the music at your wedding, look no further than Platinum Party Events. -

Laurie and her husband, Tom are so wonderful at what they do! We booked Laurie through a bridal show and it was a package deal, DJ & Photo Booth. From the day we signed the contract to the end of the wedding night, Laurie was professional, friendly and knowledgable. through-out the planning process, i had so many questions/concerns and Laurie always responded quickly and answered my concern. most importantly on the day of the event Laurie rocked the show. she kept my guest dancing all night long-I do not think anyone wanted to leave. on top of that, the Photo Booth was such a hit!! everyone is still talking about it. I couldn't say enough things about Laurie & Tom!!! we are so relieved the night went off went out a hitch and glad we had Laurie and Tom there!! -

Laurie and Thomas and their Magic Mirror Photobooth were the perfect addition to our wedding! They designed a hockey themed template for us since I grew up a Rangers fan and my husband is a huge Islanders fan. They brought so many hockey themed props as well as other wedding themed props! They remembered that my venue did not allow feather props and brought plenty of others instead. They emailed me three different templates to choose from! They even helped us put together a photo guestbook for us with a scrapbook I bought! What a fun and memorable thing to have at our wedding with such great people running the booth. -

Everyone had an amazing time at our wedding and a lot of it had to do with Laurie and Thomas at Platinum Party Events. The ceremony music was perfectly timed and our guests enjoyed the pre-ceremony music while they were finding their seats. The transition from ceremony to cocktail hour was seamless and we really appreciated the professionalism that they exhibited in making sure everything was in place. We had a relatively short reception that was behind schedule due to our ceremony running late and despite that, Laurie was able to make up the time and did not make the day feel rushed. We had our first dance "on the clouds" which was a great way to add something "extra-special" to our special day, Everyone got up and danced and generally had an awesome time, especially when an unexpected guest arrived...the dark lord of the Sith himself...Darth Vader! It really was a wonderful surprise and a memorable addition to the wedding that Platinum Party Events organized. We can't say enough good things about Platinum Party Events but we would like to take the time to say "Thanks! And May the Force be with you always..." -

Laurie made sure from day one to keep in contact often and was always pleasant to talk to. She and her husband Thomas also provided a state of the art photo booth that was a huge hit at our wedding! I was extremely pleased with Laurie officiating our wedding and she made sure we were at ease even through the ceremony. We filled out a questionnaire a few weeks prior to the event and it was very detailed so she knew everything that we did and didn't want. If we had to do it all over again we would definitely choose Thomas and Laurie again! -

I loved Laurie! She was so helpful and very professional. She had wonderful ideas on different options for my big day. She was very accommodating in making sure that if she didn't have A song I needed, she would do her best to get it. Was never needed however since her music selection was plentiful! A pleasant bonus was the fact that everytime we chatted, it was like talking with an old friend! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect DJ! -

We hired Platinum Party events as our DJ & also rented the Photo Booth. Laurie was so helpful pre-wedding with answering all of our questions and even sending me some readings when i told her we were still working on picking out only a few weeks before the wedding. During the wedding she kept the energy up and had so many guests on our dance floor for the whole night. The Photo Booth was also a HUGE hit and the best part is you get an album of ALL the photo booth photos, which is great to look at after the wedding! Where to even begin?? My husband and I could not feel more grateful to have had Laurie and Platinum Party Events by our side to have helped us celebrate our special day. From the first day of meeting Laurie at a bridal show, to our big day... she was there every step of the way. The moment we knew we had to go with Platinum Party Events, was when we attended a second bridal show, and Laurie remembered us, we knew we could count on her. Throughout our entire planning process she was there with tips, help and most of all friendship to help us celebrate such a special time in our life. As the big day approached, and we had already made our song choices, we needed to reach out to Laurie to add in a few more songs and without hesitation she agreed to them and welcomed them, which made us feel all the more welcomed to enjoy our wedding. Most of all, Laurie helped our event to turn out even more incredibly beautiful than we had imagined, because she kept all of our loved ones surrounding us on the dance floor all night long, because of the atmosphere she maintained for us. When we look back on our special day, it will not necessarily be about what colors we used or what food was eaten... but who was there to celebrate with us, and we will remember them dancing the night away with us. Even weeks later, my guests still rave about one thing... our DJ!! This DJ is the best around. We had almost booked another DJ when I met Laurie at a bridal show and knew that we wanted them to be our DJ for the wedding. They were amazing to say the least. Every month sometimes two times a month they checked in just to see how things were going and if they could help with anything. The day of the site visit was great! Laurie came out and looked at the property and helped my now husband and I visualize where things would be set up and took us step by step through the day. We were the first couple to use their new mirror photo booth and let me tell you it was a hit among our guests. My husband and I have been married for over a month now and people are still raving about the music and the photo booth and about all the fun that they had! From the bottom of our hearts thank you! They are honestly the best around! -

My husband and I got married at the Chateau in Kingston, NY on 9/24/16. It was a beautiful day with lots of love and delicious food to eat. All night long and the days after our wedding guests would compliment the beautiful ceremony, the awesomen music, and fun photobooth. Laurie and Tom at PPE provided all three as Laurie was our officiant and DJ and Tom ran the photo booth. From the first phone convo to the last moments of our reception Laurie and Tom were a sense of comfort. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams. They felt like old friends from the get go and we couldn't be happier with the services they provided. Laurie made our ceremony so beautiful and special and was genuinely happy for us. The music had everyone dancing and the photobooth was such a fun addition. And to top it of their prices are very reasonable. We can't thank them enough for making our day so special and fun. Laurie was our officiant for the big day and from the minute we first got on the phone, I knew she was going to be perfect. She is warm, thoughtful, and an absolute delight. She really took the time to get to know my husband and me and really understood our ideas. She was also incredibly helpful! She would check in throughout the entire process and even offered help in finding other vendors. Through her, we found our florist and videographer who were both outstanding. By the end of the process, Laurie felt more like a friend than someone we hired so we invited her as a guest to the reception. One of the best decisions we made! -

Everything went smoothly and Laurie was quick to step in and help guest with some of the line dance songs! I was really worried about no one dancing at my wedding and it wasn't an issue at all. Overall a great experience!!! -

We sent Laurie the types of songs & genres that we liked for each part of the wedding and she did the perfect job blending in the right songs. Our guests had an absolute blast and it made us so happy to see everyone out on the dance floor all night. Laurie was absolutely amazing!!! Not only was she our DJ but our officiant as well. Our ceremony was fabulous and our guests couldn't stop dancing the entire night. For my husband and I the Dj was the last thing we had to book for our wedding. After dealing with two unprofessional Dj's, we met Laurie from Platinum Party Events after searching for a Dj online. We couldn't be happier with the first impression she gave and decided to book her. Laurie and her husband Tom are very professional and detailed. Laurie takes the time to sit with you to make sure your special day is exactly that. Not only was Laurie our Mc at our wedding she's also an officiant who married us and did a wonderful job. Platinum Party Events was a wonderful first class experience that I will recommend to anyone in need of a Dj or marital services. They are true professionals but make you feel like they are part of your wedding party. Platinum Party Events surely won't disappoint. -

My experience of working with Laurie at Platinum Party Events was absolutely perfect from the very beginning. She was so excited and really takes care of her brides and helps to make the day exactly how you want it to be. She would e-mail me monthly just to check in up until the big day that was a friendly reminder of how accessible she was throughout the whole process. She even helped me work through some issues I was having with my venue and was extremely comforting and supportive to an anxious overwhelmed bride. The music database was wonderful and helped make sure all of our requests were played throughout our reception. The wedshots were a HIT and really made the reception even more personal and special. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I received from Platinum Party Events. Brides if you’re looking for high energy to get your guests on the dance floor the whole time......this is your DJ! Laurie & Thomas were wonderful to work with. Laurie was very responsive and even did work that most wedding planners do for you - coordinating, giving vendor suggestions when aseked, etc. They were very attentive to our needs and kept everyone dancing the whole time. They even took photos for us (which we didn't know they were doing) and sent us the gallery within days of the wedding. Everyone raved about the music and said they played something for everyone. -

Laurie and Tom were completely professional and on point. As with most large affairs, very little of the day actually runs "smoothly." Due to a series of events, much of the timing of our wedding ran severely behind. However, Laurie and Tom were on top of the time changes and still put together an amazing affair! Our wedding involved many children and the music was perfect! It suited all ages...from 2 years old to over 80 years old. Everyone had an amazing time! Two months later...I am STILL receiving compliments on how much fun our guests had dancing to tunes of and for, all ages. Thank you for all of your help leading up to and including the day of our wedding. -

PPE was absolutely amazing. My husband & I were so happy with their overall service; we could not have found a better DJ for our wedding. One of our favorite parts about booking through PPE was their online account set-up. On our RSVP return card we left a song request line and we were able to post requested songs, not only by us but what our guests wanted to hear, and the dance floor was never empty!!!! tom and laurie were GREAT! stop your search here for your event music! they played an excellent mix of old and new music and their website is easy to navigate and allows you to select songs and build an event timeline online. most of all they are extremely nice and go out of their way to make your event as seamless as possible. -

The DJ is a husband and wife team - Thomas and Laurie. Prior to the wedding, Laurie met with us once and we picked all our special songs and play lists. Laurie also did a conference call with us prior to the wedding and we e-mailed back and forth with the itinerary and other reception details. They played both the cocktail hour and the reception. They do a special feature in which they tell guests at the reception your "love story" based on answers to a questionnaire they send you. I thought that might be cheesy but guests have told me it was cute and sweet. Laurie was the emcee and Thomas was the DJ. They are very professional, dress elegantly for the event and are prepared. There were only minor glitches - one was that I requested a specific choreographed song and they did not play it but played another one I did not request, but guests seemed to enjoy that song anyway. Also, I asked for no props and they handed out leis and something else. Again, I thought that would be cheesy, but guests seemed to like it. I have been to two weddings with different DJs since our wedding and at both those weddings, the sound went out a few times during the reception and there were gaps between transitions without music and the volume was also off. I am very grateful to have had this DJ team - they were great and I definitely would recommend them. -

Laurie went above and beyond to make my daughters Sweet 16 an absolute success. She handled all our concerns as they arose. She literally was just an absolute problem solver for us in this process of preparing for this event. She even helped me set up my candy bar at the event . She was so easy for my daughter to relate and talk to which was so important to me and her. She had all the kids dancing all night and with all the time effort and money we put in to this event Laurie made it all worth it ! -

Family-friendly, easy to work with, some ups and downs on the day of
We hired Platinum DJ and photobooth for a wedding, so some of this feedback may not be relevant to other events.
Overall, we enjoyed their services. I’m going to provide more details about what went right and what didn’t go so well for people who may be considering hiring this company.
I’ll start with the negatives, most of which will only apply to weddings. It seemed like the DJ forgot her notes when it came to certain details. The wrong recessional song was played before being corrected after a few seconds. Despite telling the DJ twice that I did not want to be announced as Mr and Mrs. “Groom’s last name” (as I am not changing my name) and offered her some alternatives, that is how we were announced. When I went up to do the father-daughter dance, the DJ announced me as my mom’s name by accident. We asked the DJ to fade the music after a minute for the parent-child dances, and instead the whole songs were played. Similarly, we asked for the hora to be played for only 5 minutes, and it was played for more than 15 minutes. This lead to some awkwardness.
Now, for the positives. They played family-friendly music, and they did a good job of finding music that our guests would like based on the recommendations we had provided. The photobooth was a huge hit. I’ve been to lots of photobooths at weddings, but this one was my favorite! We got a photo album for the photobooth, and they put in the photos for us, which has been a wonderful keepsake. It was very easy to get in touch with them as we were planning, and they were very friendly and responsive.
While there were hiccups, I overall enjoyed working with this company. If I were to do the day over again, I would have just gone over all of the notes again.
