Joan is your person if you want someone who knows every element of a wedding from start to finish. She has everything organized in detailed sheets so you don't have to know what comes next or when to do what. My husband and I are pretty laid back so we didn't do all of the traditional things that happen on a wedding weekend, but Joan was flexible and just deleted those rows/columns off the sheet and kept going. I want to highlight Joan's professionalism and execution. She was able to execute my table decor with only a video from me as an example. I didn't worry about a single thing day-of because Joan was there managing stuff behind the scenes (including an irrational venue manager). She kept things moving smoothly from 12 months before the wedding through the final moment of our post-ceremony after party. I highly recommend Planning the I DO if you want affordability, detailed guidance, and flexibility.

Joan is absolutely amazing!! She thinks of EVERYTHING and makes your actual wedding day a breeze! She was also so wonderful with COVID - we had to cancel our original wedding due to the pandemic. She helped us plan an intimate ceremony for just the two of us and then stuck it out to plan our big day again 2 years later. I don't know what we would have done without her

Joan Hannan did an outstanding job as our wedding planner for my daughter's USNA wedding in September 2021. After multiple rescheduled dates due to Covid and letting go of a previous wedding planner, Joan saved the day! Her organization (i.e., incredibly detailed Excel sheets/timelines with pivot tables, no less) and kind personality went above and beyond all of our expectations. She held us to task with making decisions and keeping us on track, and alleviated all of the wedding stress that weekend. In fact, once the weekend rolled around, she coordinated everything flawlessly behind the scenes. Friends and family continue to tell us that it was one of the best weddings ever -- and many thanks to Joan for helping us make it such an incredible celebration. Joan was an absolute rockstar throughout our entire wedding planning process as well of (and most importantly) day of operations for the event. She was incredibly easy to work with, extremely responsive, and so knowledgeable on creating and running perfect wedding events. On the big day, you don't want to have any concerns about your event and how it's going to run. Joan eliminates all of those concerns and makes it so that all you have to worry about is saying your vows and having an amazing time. My wife and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Since I am the mother of the groom, I was exceedingly pleased with the way Joan helped me and kept me in the loop on the wedding weekend. She was instrumental in helping me plan and execute the groom's dinner and on the wedding day she texted me and my husband constantly about what the bride and groom were doing and where we were needed or just could come and watch.

Joan is amazing, and helped my wife and I put together the perfect backyard wedding. She worked with us through not one wedding, but two. We initially planned our wedding at a venue in a mountain town in Colorado, but had to cancel due to the pandemic. We then shifted plans to a backyard wedding at our newly purchased home, and had to change almost every detail. Joan was amazing throughout the entire process; she was incredibly organized, helped us work through all of the challenges of shifting plans from one wedding to another, including handling getting deposits/refunds for the cancellation of the initial wedding, managing our own backyard venue and working with all of the vendors to accomplish an amazing wedding. She was so much help ironing out every detail ahead of the wedding so that there was no question about anything that happened the day of. Joan helped with the communication between vendors as well as anyone else who was involved in assisting with the wedding and rehearsal dinner, and she left nothing to chance. On the wedding day she helped us stay on schedule, manage vendors, and was instrumental in pulling off the event. I cannot thank her and recommend her highly enough. Putting a wedding on is an incredibly in depth process (especially while taking on the challenge of having it at your own home, feeding a large group, and handling all of the festivities involved), and she made it a breeze. Joan is incredibly organized and did an amazing job keeping us on plan and on budget, guiding us through the big and little decisions before our wedding. The venue was full service and had an on site coordinator but we quickly learned that is just not enough. Joan was able to help us work with the other vendors to lay out and confirm all details and schedules and coordinate between them. On the weekend of the wedding it was great to know Joan was paying attention to all the details and ensuring we could relax and enjoy every moment. We added bus transportation for our rehearsal dinner and when the buses didn't show up Joan stepped in and made sure the guests arrived at the rehearsal on time and provided all the documentation we needed to seek remediation from the bus vendor. That is the type of situation that a full service wedding planner, like Planning The I DO, will deal with that a venue coordinator wouldn't touch. There was a slight rain shower during our cocktail hour and guests starting moving into the reception room before it was all set. Joan worked with the venue staff to finish the set up and made it completely seamless for our guests. Planning The I DO helped us have the wedding of our dreams.

We hired Planning The I DO to provide month of planning for our very large (300+ guests) gay wedding. With everything Joan did, I can't imagine what else we would have needed - I'm certain she did more than most planners do when you use their full service package. She helped us save money at several points in the planning process, the biggest savings came when she helped us negotiate more appropriate service manpower at the venue which saved us $900. There were details about planning a wedding at a City owned facility that never would have crossed our minds and we were glad Joan was attentive to the nuances of this type of venue - like ensuring we had appropriate insurance and reading the venue contract in great detail and ensuring we and every vendor followed the myriad of requirements to the letter so there were no additional charges. From the beginning of the day to the end of the evening - Joan had everything in hand. She was the first one to arrive to help with set-up and the last to leave when all the vendors were gone and the venue had signed off. She even arranged to have an assistant join her during part of the day at no charge so she could have coverage at both the wedding and the reception venue at the same time. We can't say enough good about Planning The I DO.

Joan was instrumental in making our wedding day everything we dreamed of. It was the most magical wedding and it was the perfect night. We had a back yard wedding for ~140 guests which seemed an easy task at first glance. Joan helped us understand the logistics of hosting a wedding without a venue. Without her guidance we wouldn't have had a plan for trash disposal, lighting the way to the port-a-potty, busing tables, etc. She helped us work with 14 vendors on every detail including the coordinated timeline, deliveries, payments and tipping. In some cases we would have over tipped so her assistance saved us precious wedding funds. She also was instrumental in helping us communicate with our families and meet everyone's needs. Since we live in CA and the wedding was in Denver we did almost all the work together remotely - she made it easy and effective. We appreciated her flat rate pricing model which eliminated surprises and nickle and diming. There was no worrying about how many hours we needed to talk, how many emails/texts we needed to exchange or how many hours she needed to be onsite for the big day. I encourage anyone having a private venue wedding to consider Planning The I DO for assistance with planning. I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate Joan. I would not have made it through the wedding without her. Everyone in my family mentioned how wonderful and helpful Joan was. Wish I could give her 10 stars!
