About

Pix Pâtisserie is a little slice of France that landed in Portland in 2001, offering both innovative and traditional French desserts, chocolates and house made ice creams along side a plethora of top notch beverages.

After a short-lived career studying to be an astronaut, owner/executive chef/wine director/and more...Cheryl Wakerhauser, headed to Southern France and trained at the prestigious pâtisserie of MOF Philippe URRACA. President since 2003 of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Pâtissiers, M. URRACA was also featured in the 2009 documentary Kings of Pastry and is one of the most notable pastry chefs in Europe.

Cheryl travels often to France and Spain to better understand the atmosphere, culture, flavors and techniques associated with French pastry, Spanish tapas and the tasty beverages they drink with them. These aspects are then recreated here in Portland with as much authenticity and quality as possible.

Her other love? Champagne. Some women buy shoes, Cheryl buys Champagne. Her collection at Pix has grown to over 400 bottles, including vintage and large format, with a focus on small grower producers. Her goal is to make quality wine accessible and affordable and, most importantly, provide a fun atmosphere to drink it in. The list was awarded World's Best Champagne and Sparkling Wine List in 2014, 2015, 2016 (hat trick!), 2017, 2018, and just recently, 2019 by London's World of Fine Wine Magazine.

Not ready for dessert? Pix houses a proper Spanish tapas bar named Bar Vivant. This is bar food to pair with our quality selection of wine, beer, cider, Sherry and tasty cocktails. Pintxos, montaditos, plenty of top notch conservas and the best bravas in town. Throw your napkins on the floor, please, and don't be afraid to get a bit rowdy.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we ordered 3 macaron towers from Pix Patisserie and they were perfect and delicious! There were 100 macarons per tower and we used just 2 different flavors (raspberry and salted caramel), although I think you can choose up to 6 different macaron flavors. The towers were really fun and aesthetically pleasing, but also really easy to serve - guests were able to just come up and pick which macarons they wanted from the towers.

Working with Pix was very easy. I don't live in Portland, but they were very responsive by telephone and I didn't have any problem talking with the bakers so they understood exactly what we wanted. Also, our wedding was on Mt Hood in August, an hour an a half drive from Portland but transporting the towers went very smoothly. Pix froze the towers and packaged them really well so we were able to pick them up the morning of the wedding, drive them over to the venue and they were thawed and ready to go when we arrived!

Pix Patisserie offered a wonderful variety of desserts to choose from. Our Daughter and Son-in-law chose ten different desserts to offer to their 130 attending guests. There was plenty for everyone, but nothing was left over. The guests kept going to additional tastings, it was all so delicious. If a bride or groom is looking for an alternative to a wedding cake, Pix is the place to go.
They don't deliver outside a certain radius, so we did have to hire a courier service to deliver the tasty morsels to the wedding venue.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
