The flowers were simply amazing—there aren’t enough words to describe how beautiful your work was; you transformed each space into something magical. Your creativity and attention to every detail simply made the entire experience perfect. We lost count of all the “wows” and “incredibles” we heard all night long over the flowers and the tables. The entry hall was a spectacular welcome to the mansion, the cocktail flowers were perfectly understated yet meaningful and what you did in the ballroom transformed it into something stunningly beautiful.

Diana of Petals in Locust Valley is a hidden gem in the wedding florals industry. As mother of the bride and as someone who was super excited about the wedding florals, I thought for sure that I was going to use one particular (super talented) florist who is well known on social media and on the Long Island wedding scene. But after meeting with Diana, she was such a breath of fresh air we hired her immediately. She cared about the details and really, really cared about us and making us happy with the finished product. We had a lot of good laughs together, built a great relationship and the wedding days was nothing short of magical -- all thanks to her great work and our feeling of partnership. Diana is not really embedded in social media and I think it's because she is so focused on the job at hand and doing amazing work that her portfolio is the last thing on her mind. I will always remember Diana and her incredibly kind and generous team as someone who made this event special for our family, put in long hours, went above and beyond and only cared about making her customer's vision come to life. That is very rare. I think if we had gone with the other florist, it might have been more about their vision, than ours. We worked with Petals for our November 2019 wedding at the De Seversky in Glen Head. Although a preferred vendor for the venue, we were concerned that as a “local florist” Petals would not have enough creativity to make our event special. We’ve rarely been so gratified to be wrong! Diana and Jessica of Petals spoke with us several times on the phone and spent nearly three hours in person at their floral showroom carefully reviewing each and every option. Flowers are important to my family, and Diana and Jessica were an incredible help towards selecting the appropriate flowers to match our color scheme and design theme. I sent dozens of pictures of potential arrangements, centerpieces and chuppahs that we both did and did not like and Petals took the time to review all of our submissions and developed design options that spoke to our choices. Even our somewhat out-of-season selections of Ranunculus (buttercups) and Hydrangeas were accommodated, with large healthy colorful specimens. The bouquets were gorgeous and our chuppah was a showstopper. Throughout the process, which included design options such as chuppah lighting, candles and table arrangements, Diana and Jessica were patient, understanding and encouraging and perhaps most important of all responsive. Selecting florals become one of the tasks we most enjoyed.

Our wedding was perfect, it was literally everything I'd ever dreamed of. Out of all of that, I need to express my utmost gratitude to Jess, Brian, Sharon, and the entire Petals team. Our event wasn't a huge one - 40 guests total and a pretty modest budget - but they treated us like celebrities. The displays were astonishingly beautiful and everyone kept commenting, to the point that they wanted to take the centerpieces at the reception home with them. Jess P. single-handedly stopped me from having a shrieking, sobbing bridal breakdown the moment she saw me in the Church parking lot, and her gentle take-charge attitude righted the ship, even though she had to deal with other members of our vendor team that had nothing to do with flowers. I honestly cannot recommend Petals highly enough for ANYTHING, from a simple date night bouquet to a grand ballroom wedding display. Hire them.

Let me start off by saying that I do not know much about flowers nor did I have any idea on what I wanted for my wedding. So, after speaking to a few different preferred vendors and getting a bad vibe from all of them (most of them wouldn’t even follow up with me because my budget was not that grand) I was starting to feel discouraged. Luckily, a friend of ours that also got married at the de Seversky Mansion recommended Petals to us and boy am I sure glad they did! Unlike all the other pretentious florists we spoke to, Diana was an absolute sweetheart and didn’t start off the conversation with the typical “what’s your budget?” question. Instead, she took the time to listen and find out what exactly what I was looking for. As previously mentioned, I didn’t really have a clue so she was able to recommend a few different options and even put together a few different arrangements so that I can get a feel for what I wanted. I was quickly able to narrow it down and decide on the perfect arrangement for my wedding. Diana gave my husband and I a detailed breakdown of every item that we discussed (yes, EVERY item including candle holders). This is such a HUGE help since it gave us the ability to pick what we really wanted and eliminate things that didn’t fit within our budget. At no point did Diana make us feel that our budget wasn’t big enough to get a nice arrangement done. Instead, she worked with what we had and came up with the most beautiful assortment of flowers that our guests still rave about months later! Wedding planning is beyond stressful so to deal with someone as pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable as Diana was a real breathe of fresh air, one that we desperately needed in the struggle of choosing vendors. I can go on and on about how great of an experience we had with Petals but I’ll sum it up with this - I can not recommend Diana and her team enough!! They are absolute professionals, genuinely nice people and are not looking to nickel and dime you for every penny like most vendors are. If you are looking for a florist for your big day, save yourself the trouble and headache of shopping around and visit Diana first. I promise you, you will be so glad you did. Thanks again Diana!
