I loved working with MJ. Beautiful flowers was one of the biggest priorities for my fiance and me for our wedding and Petal DC was recommended to us by a colleague. When you hire a florist, you have to put a huge amount of trust in them - you share your vision and colors, but at the end of the day, you're still at the mercy of what's available the week of your wedding. MJ more than delivered. MJ and I had a detailed planning call and numerous back-and-forth emails to work out my order. She made my bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, centerpieces, aisle decor, and a gorgeous floral ground arch for our ceremony that was then wrapped around our sweetheart table. MJ was also able to stay after our ceremony and help flip the space so everything was set up exactly right. The flower choices and colors were beautiful - it was fully in line with my vision and even better than I could have imagined. We received so many compliments on the flowers and our guests were really excited to take them home at the end of the night. I would highly recommend working with Petal DC and MJ for our wedding!

We worked with MJ for our flowers for our wedding. We got married at a restaurant in DC that already had some plants/greenery, so we wanted to bring in just a touch more to help make it feel more like a wedding. We had a few calls with MJ regarding the space, budget, and type of vibe we were going for. Everything was super easy and she was able to send examples of what type of displays, bouquets, and accents that we would have and an itemized budget for each item. The day of experience was even better than I anticipated. She created a cascading flower arrangement on an outdoor staircase on that matched our vision picture perfectly. She suggested really pretty window displays and a flower wall that was executed to perfection. I honestly didn't have to think too much about the flowers because I trusted that she had it under control - and she did. MJ and DC Petal exceeded our expectations for our wedding day. We had so many guests compliment our flowers on the night of our wedding. Thank you again so much!

We enjoyed working with MJ! She was professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. She even took the time to do a walk-through of our venue a few months before the wedding with our caterers and planner, which wasn't required of her by any means but was very much appreciated. She did a wonderful job with my bridal bouquet and centerpieces with very little guidance (not knowing much about flowers, I didn't really know what I wanted). I truly "left it up to the professional", and I was not disappointed! I would definitely recommend MJ for your special event!

MJ took into account color specifications the bride had made and went above and beyond to create absolutely stunning handheld arrangements that could be transitioned to the reception space during reception time. Her flexibility when it came to the wedding day was integral in ensuring every detail was placed on-time and as the couple had imagined. We could not have imagined a more perfect floral artist to work with in the Northern Virginia area. I can't recommend Petal DC enough! I found MJ through social media and was impressed by the small operation. I asked for a very specific bridal bouquet and MJ delivered and made it even better than I imagined. I also loved how the calla lily boutonnieres and corsage turned out. For the ceremony, we got a beautiful garland made of greenery for the trellis. MJ was great to work with – very friendly and accommodating throughout the process and on the wedding day. Wedding flowers can be really expensive and I almost didn't have any but Petal DC was affordable and terrific quality.

Hiring MJ was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. She helped me through every single step, helping me bring my vision to life. She was flexible, professional and amazing to work with -- not to mention, our flowers were GORGEOUS. (I have a picture of one of the center pieces on my living room wall.) One of the best parts of my experience was MJ's ability to work with my budget. I had a tiny wedding, and wasn't able to afford some of those outrageous prices I saw while researching wedding florists. MJ's prices are more than fair -- and all the flower arrangements were beyond my expectations. If you're thinking about choosing MJ -- do it! You won't be disappointed.

MJ created a beautiful bouquet and boutonniere for a civil ceremony with short notice and even changed plans to deliver them last minute. Should we decide to do the big shebang in DC, I will definitely call on MJ again. She was an absolute pleasure to work with.

I was curious about working with Petal DC after seeing MJ's mother day bouquets at a local shop. I liked the natural, "undone" look of her florals. MJ was great to work with. She was responsive and used my ideas and inspiration to guide her floral design. She created an array of arrangements for us, including bridal and flower girl bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, bud vase arrangements, and a gorgeous chuppah with hanging flowers. I would recommend MJ to anyone planning a wedding in the DC area.
