Maciej went above and beyond for our elopement. He was more than just a photographer, he was truly our wedding planner. My husband and I had never been to Costa Rica, so we weren’t sure what we wanted for our elopement or where to begin. He spent so much time educating us on the area and sending thoughtful ceremony location options. He even used his personal time to scout different spots and speak with multiple agencies to help make our day perfect.

We ultimately planned on a helicopter ride to a waterfall, followed by a couples massage and lunch. This was a super romantic itinerary he completely designed and curated for us from start to finish. Unfortunately, the rain on our wedding day prevented us from doing any of the original plans he worked so hard on. But he effortlessly pivoted, met us at our hotel. We still had the most incredible, intimate wedding we could have imagined and I felt no stress, even as an extremely anxious person.

Maciej makes you feel completely comfortable and is genuinely down for anything. His photography skills are unmatched. We received our photos so quickly, and the quality is truly stunning. It’s clear this is a gift that comes naturally to him.

He is also incredibly well connected in the area. He recommended an amazing makeup artist and a beautiful cacao ceremony officiant, and he personally picked up the exact flowers I had envisioned from a local shop and brought them to our wedding.

If you are considering Papaya Wedding and Maciej, whether in Costa Rica or anywhere in the world, I would say you should absolutely do it. He has a creative mind that will make your dreams come true. He is open to traveling, his pricing is extremely reasonable, and he pours his heart into what he does. We are so grateful and will absolutely be working with him again.

I feel like many people getting married opt to not have a videographer to save money, but I highly, HIGHLY recommend having one. Photos are amazing and important too but there is something soooo special about seeing your day brought to life again, seeing the movements, hearing the voices... its magical and something that we will cherish forever! We booked Maciej for our 2/4/25 wedding at Dreams Las Mareas and him and his team were amazing to work with! They were so fun and had great energy but also relaxed and kept everything feeling so comfortable... capturing my husband and I just being us. Working with Maciej and Jen for our elopement in Costa Rica was an absolute dream! From the start, Maciej was communicative and made the whole process of having an international elopement easy.
