This is a great place to have an event, the venue was decorated beautifully, the people were incredibly responsive and helpful, and the food was excellent. The price was a great value too, they included the food, tablecloth and napkins, chairs, silverware and centerpieces, all for a very reasonable price, We had a beautiful wedding, I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. They took a lot of the stress off and made our wedding day nice, easy and stress free :)

I would recommend the Port N Starboard at Ocean Beach for any type of event. My husband and I got married on Friday, August 1, 2008 on one of the decks overlooking the beach and water and we had our reception at Port N Starboard in the medium sized room called the Pilot House. The food was the best...we had Salmon, Prime Rib, and Stuffed Chicken. We got rave reviews from our guests. All of the servers and management were wonderful also!

Port N Starboard where the main attraction at our reception. The menu that they created for us was great all around. They are one of the few catering companies in our area that know how to make a great steak. It was a pleasure to have their staff at our wedding.I will recommend them to everybody I know.

The venue looked beautiful and they were able to accommodate anything I asked for but there were things they said they would do that they did not. For example I was told the wedding party would get an extra hour of drinks because they were doing photos during cocktail hour and they did not do that. They said they would have food and drinks in the hallway for the wedding party while waiting for introductions and they did not but they quickly fixed it. I also forgot to add a vendor table and they had no problem setting that up and fixing my mistake. My biggest complaint is that they had me communicating with a different banquet manager than was at my wedding until the day before and then at that point I thought all the plans had been communicated between each other and they had not do u needed to do done unnecessary running around. I had asked for a setup on the deck that was promised but not communicated. Nothing was earth shattering but I was disappointed. More of my guests could have been sitting but they only put a few chairs out. I had to send people to do setup in the morning, the venue would not set up my arch, put out programs or any of the small things that would have been helpful on such a busy day. We were lucky enough there was not event the night before so we could set up the tables because they do not handle centerpieces or favors either. The service was AMAZING though. THe staff that came to each table was so helpful, cheerful and courteous! They went above and beyond! The bartenders were a little gruff with me but I heard from my guests they were great. I was told when I went up for a drink that the cash bar had just begun(really for the bride?!?!). I asked why no one had communicated it to us as was discussed because we may have put more money in for our guests and they said it was just the last drink. We should have had some warning. The food was very good. It didn't look as good as it tasted but it was very tasty.

Vendor did not return phone calls at a prompt time. Vendor also did not provide the bridal table with any food or water, also bridal table was last to be served and the bride has to ask for a waiter. Very unorganized but cheap.

As I was a guest at the said above Wedding, I was also family and do not want to take away from the beauty of the marriage and festivities from that night.... I am writing this review from a guests perspective, and having experienced the same under par service for a second time recently at a charity event held in this same venue... As part of the wedding party I had agreed to help decorate the venue and center pieces (that are not provided) for the tables of the event, after asking management staff for water for our centerpieces, we received an "EYE-ROLL" along with "WHISPER TALK TO ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE STAFF." I must add that the Venue is truly beautiful, many guests were taken away with the breathtaking view of Sand and Sea.... Wedding Pictures onsite provided a beautiful setting, and helped move the event forward. My main problem ( as a guest) was with the dinner service. Our table was bombarded with End Cuts of Prime Rib, as we politely declined these cuts of meat, 4 other tables surrounding us were fully served, while we still had half the table without their desired dinners.. As we politely sat and waited for the whole table to be served before eating, we found ourselves waving to an "unresponsive staff that seemed to be in total confusion." After having our table receiving our meals, I found many complaints of overcooked chicken, and many complaints of over/under cooked Prime Rib.... I may of had high expectations of this Wedding and the hype surrounding it, but there were too many factors, even as a guest, but part of planning, that were not up to par.... The Venue is truly beautiful, the dinner service is an absolute mess, staff consists of minimal experienced servers along with teenagers home for summer from high school and college. Writing this review because I have another Niece who is considering this venue... I told her to avoid at all costs, guests werent happy, but we with the Newlyweds happiness, and continued love in life.

Manager did not respond to any of the messages that were left. Food was awful and the wedding table had to serve themselves. All servers and staff was extremely unprofessional.

Great location, terrible service. My wife's family, along with mine did the entire set up of our venue, minus the table cloths. Debbie and my wife talked finally, after emails and phone calls went unanswered(after we gave them a deposit) after my wife went in to discuss how she wanted the tables set up both inside and out on the deck(we had the Nautilus room). Debbie said she would have the tables set up the way they had discussed and that everything would be taken care of. This woman Debbie, in my eyes, is an absolute liar because she did nothing that my wife and her discussed except put down the table cloths. I showed up early to drop off the flowers and center pieces with my mother around 3:45 PM. At around 4:30 when people started to show up and nothing but the table clothes were set up my mother in law asked if anything was getting done or if we were supposed to do it. Thank god for her. She got the ball rolling. My family and my wife's family set up the entire venue. What made things difficult is that my wife, days earlier, dropped off votives and their holders along with other knick knacks to be set up that we could not locate. After running around like a mad man trying to find Debbie we located everything and set everything up ourselves. She was more concentrated on the other wedding going on next door and I basically felt like we did not matter to her. So since we set everything up(minus the table cloths, way to go Debbie) I was to say the least, none too happy. Once the ceremony got started I never thought about it again.....until I started hearing about how sick the majority of my guests got that night. Basically, everyone who ate the meatballs from the buffet that they had supplied got sick. My mother in law also took left overs home and noticed the next morning that they had served us cheese with mold on it. I would never recommend this venue unless they have someone other than Debbie running it.
