The Northbank Center is beautiful without having to touch it. When you first see it you will be in awe, The downfall is that you have to go with the university catering and the cheapest meal/person is $18.95 buffet style (as of 10-2014). But, the upside is they are very professional and the food is great. You also have to use their bartender if you decide to have alcohol (which you must provide) and you must have your own liability insurance to cover your event. Its a bit pricey but if you can afford it its well worth it.

Money well spent at Northbank Center

Our experience at the Northbank Center was great. Only minor hiccup was a change in the onsite catering company mid planning but other wise Launa Collins made things simple even long distance. For the price the room is absolutely worth it and beautiful. Really the only thing we couldn’t do was use open flame.

The hall was beautiful and the office help were great, but the bar service was absolutely horrible. They are extreme strict and had no idea what they were doing. Very rude to my guest and refuse to service them water on a 98 degree day. Very unprofessional staff at the event. But the hall was beautiful and office people were great !!

I definitely wouldn't recommend the northbank for a reception. We had a really hard time with the coordinator of the ballroom. She is not flexible at all and doesn't really like to do things the bride/groom would like them done for reception. In fact, there is a pretty big attitude and push back on any suggestions or requests you have. She wouldn't even allow my DJ to come in 30 min early to set up because she wanted to charge me an additional $75 for him to set up early. She told us the week of our wedding we have to be out 1 hour after our wedding reception ends.... we get 4 hours to set up and 1 hour to clean up? Doesn't make sense to me either and advanced notice would have been nice. Told me it was a waste of time to extend our reception from 11p to 12p. The list goes on. Please, find someone who enjoys helping you plan your wedding and is open to making your day perfect the way YOU want it.
