I’ve had the pleasure of working with Nikki multiple times over the last few years for my sister’s wedding, my engagement photos, and most recently for my own wedding. Not only is she insanely talented, but she is a calming voice during potentially chaotic situations. She has a way of making EVERYONE comfortable in front of the camera. Her fun personality and positive energy is contagious and it really comes through in her photos. I can’t say enough good things about her. Nikki is the BEST! I am so happy that I found her! She was recommended to me by a friend whose friend used her. Nikki was so responsive and flexible! She stuck with me during multiple date changes due to covid and we even did a couple's shoot before the wedding. It was so amazing to meet her before the wedding.

I found Nikki Schell on Instagram! I'd fallen in love with her photography style and how bright and warm her portfolio was. I'm so grateful she said yes to working with us because, looking back, I cannot imagine our wedding day without her there.

We're in love with our wedding pictures and the way Nikki captured the day. Work product aside, our experience working with her was also amazing. Day of she was a rock star - working seamlessly with our other vendors and keeping us on schedule.
Her energy was genuine and so so positive, like we'd known her for years were just hanging with a long time friend. I have no idea what we laughed about or what we talked about but it was FUN. She was organized, professional, kind, and incredibly easy to work with from the very beginning.

Nikki photographed our small elopement ceremony in DC this past October. Like most, we had to shift from our initial larger party to a small, intimate ceremony with our immediate family. Nikki made the day extra special from start to finish. She makes the pictures (even the "awkward" ones) a blast and we are so happy with how the pictures turned out. Nikki was very communicative along the way and always willing to answer any and all of our questions/concerns. I would highly recommend Nikki for future events!

Wow, where do I even start? Nikki was the first vendor we hired for our wedding. We met randomly before I was even dating my now-husband, and I knew right away that I wanted her to capture our wedding day. By the end of our wedding, our families and friends were talking about how amazing she was and how they felt like they had known her their whole lives.

To start, Nikki really got to know us as a couple. Before our engagement shoot, she asked us about our favorite things to do, how my husband proposed, etc. It showed that she truly cares about her clients and sees them as friends more than as clients! Next, Nikki is really good at what she does. Throughout the wedding planning process, I would see cute pictures of couples and was so nervous that we wouldn't look as good (as crazy as that sounds). Nikki knows exactly how to direct you so that every picture looks amazing. Finally, Nikki's calm demeanor helped everyone feel relaxed. Taking pictures wasn't stressful because she made everyone laugh and helped us have fun with it.

I can't say enough amazing things about Nikki. One of my favorite parts of our wedding was when she ended up driving my husband and I from the church to the reception. I felt like we were just hanging out with one of our best friends. I was so sad when I said bye to her at the end our wedding! Nikki is reliable, knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful and will do an INCREDIBLE job at your wedding - hire her!

How can I even describe how amazing Nikki is. Everything about her work is incredible and she was such a pleasure to work with. I have known Nikki since High School and I was so excited when I found out she was a photographer. I think that she ended up being the second thing we booked! We were engaged for a long time and she was super patient, kind and helpful throughout the entire planning process.

Everything on the wedding day was executed perfectly. She was on time, ready to work and adapting to our crazy day of schedule. She knew exactly what was going on and made you feel so relaxed - despite the 10,000 things running through your head! She delivered us 30 photos 4 hours after our reception ended! I couldn't believe what was infront of our eyes, she captured our love perfectly. We will never be able to express how thankful we are to have Nikki as the eye behind our day! She is a wonderful person and friend and we would recommend her over and over again!

Nikki took our engagement and wedding pictures and she does not disappoint! I found Nikki on instagram after seeing that she photographed other weddings at our venue. I loved her light, whimsical, and romantic style and it was exactly the vibe of our wedding. Nikki is easy to work with, super personable, and makes you feel at ease - even with weird wedding poses!! It feels like she's your friend along the entire process --- she's helpful with not only pictures but timeline and any other random wedding questions.

I absolutely love our wedding pictures and have gotten so many compliments on them! I love looking at the gallery and each time I do I'm transported back to our day. Nikki captured so much emotion and it's amazing how she caught the perfect moment so many times!

I could honestly cry writing this because Nikki Schell is an absolute dream to work with. From our first conversation, my husband and I felt so comfortable with Nikki and it was clear that she is not only talented and professional, but also truly cares about the couples she works with. For our engagement photos, Nikki was up for anything and really wanted to capture the true essence of our relationship. My husband and I met in Pittsburgh and wanted to include a piece of it in our photos, so we asked Nikki if we could go up to Hagerstown and get some Primanti's sandwiches and do a picnic. She was totally on board and was even willing to take pictures at the restaurant and in a park (which she found for us!). We were excited for the engagement photos because we don't often take pictures together, but this also made us a little nervous. Let me tell you, Nikki makes you feel so at ease and like total models! The whole time she was taking pictures she was making us laugh and giving us compliments. It was SO fun and the pictures came out so beautifully. We could not wait for the wedding photos!

In between the engagement pics and the wedding, Nikki periodically checked in and provided updates. With Nikki, you don't have to worry about anything - she is so on top of things. She sent us a timeline and was totally open to edits to it, and had us fill out a list of family portraits so she could make sure she captured all of the shots we wanted. A few weeks before the wedding, she even sent me a Starbucks gift card and said to have a drink on her since wedding planning can be so stressful. She's an angel!

The day of the wedding, Nikki and her second shooter, Cait, came to my hotel room and it was like having more best friends in the room. Nikki was calm but really excited for us and made me feel like a princess. She kept saying how beautiful I looked and how gorgeous the dress was. Both photographers started working quickly and captured both posed and candid shots. My absolute favorite was when Nikki arranged my bridesmaids for the "first look" of me in my dress. What a special moment! When I asked to take some other shots that we hadn't previously discussed, like a first look with my dad and some silly shots with a friend, Nikki was 100% on board. All of the family and wedding party portraits were quick and fun to take. Nikki acknowledges how weird some poses can feel (e.g., boobs to backs!) and it makes everyone feel so much more comfortable. I told my husband that one of my favorite parts of the wedding was taking our couple portraits together with Nikki. It was so nice to have some time just the two (three with Nikki :)) of us, and the pictures were really fun to take. Nikki periodically showed us shots on her camera and I was already blown away. The NEXT day, Nikki uploaded four edited shots from the wedding and I sobbed happy tears. They were so beautiful and looked like they were out of a magazine, yet also felt totally true to the relationship my husband and I have.

I will end this review by saying this: I am confident that if you hire Nikki Schell to photograph your wedding, she will be your favorite vendor and your best decision.
