Nikki is the real deal
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Nikki multiple times over the last few years for my sister’s wedding, my engagement photos, and most recently for my own wedding. Not only is she insanely talented, but she is a calming voice during potentially chaotic situations. She has a way of making EVERYONE comfortable in front of the camera. Her fun personality and positive energy is contagious and it really comes through in her photos. I can’t say enough good things about her. Her 2nd shooter at my wedding was Caity Kramer who was also incredibly nice and talented. They made a great team and I was lucky to have them there to capture the special day. -

Nikki is the BEST! I am so happy that I found her! She was recommended to me by a friend whose friend used her. Nikki was so responsive and flexible! She stuck with me during multiple date changes due to covid and we even did a couple's shoot before the wedding. It was so amazing to meet her before the wedding.
She has the type of personality that makes you feel so comfortable and makes you feel like you've known her forever as a friend!
My wedding was on June 4th, 2021 and she had previews on June 7th! They are STUNNING!!!!
If you are thinking about using Nikki, DO IT!!!! Photos are AMAZING! Her second shooter, Rachel, was also amazing and super friendly! They were both able to put my anxiety at ease! :)
I cannot pick a favorite photo because I love them all! Nikki and Rachel captured the night so beautifully! I am looking forward to seeing the whole album! -

I found Nikki Schell on Instagram! I'd fallen in love with her photography style and how bright and warm her portfolio was. I'm so grateful she said yes to working with us because, looking back, I cannot imagine our wedding day without her there.
We're in love with our wedding pictures and the way Nikki captured the day. Work product aside, our experience working with her was also amazing. Day of she was a rock star - working seamlessly with our other vendors and keeping us on schedule.
Her energy was genuine and so so positive, like we'd known her for years were just hanging with a long time friend. I have no idea what we laughed about or what we talked about but it was FUN. She was organized, professional, kind, and incredibly easy to work with from the very beginning.
Nikki is super talented and a wonderful human being. -

Wow, where do I even start? Nikki was the first vendor we hired for our wedding. We met randomly before I was even dating my now-husband, and I knew right away that I wanted her to capture our wedding day. By the end of our wedding, our families and friends were talking about how amazing she was and how they felt like they had known her their whole lives.
To start, Nikki really got to know us as a couple. Before our engagement shoot, she asked us about our favorite things to do, how my husband proposed, etc. It showed that she truly cares about her clients and sees them as friends more than as clients! Next, Nikki is really good at what she does. Throughout the wedding planning process, I would see cute pictures of couples and was so nervous that we wouldn't look as good (as crazy as that sounds). Nikki knows exactly how to direct you so that every picture looks amazing. Finally, Nikki's calm demeanor helped everyone feel relaxed. Taking pictures wasn't stressful because she made everyone laugh and helped us have fun with it.
I can't say enough amazing things about Nikki. One of my favorite parts of our wedding was when she ended up driving my husband and I from the church to the reception. I felt like we were just hanging out with one of our best friends. I was so sad when I said bye to her at the end our wedding! Nikki is reliable, knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful and will do an INCREDIBLE job at your wedding - hire her! -

I could honestly cry writing this because Nikki Schell is an absolute dream to work with. From our first conversation, my husband and I felt so comfortable with Nikki and it was clear that she is not only talented and professional, but also truly cares about the couples she works with. For our engagement photos, Nikki was up for anything and really wanted to capture the true essence of our relationship. My husband and I met in Pittsburgh and wanted to include a piece of it in our photos, so we asked Nikki if we could go up to Hagerstown and get some Primanti's sandwiches and do a picnic. She was totally on board and was even willing to take pictures at the restaurant and in a park (which she found for us!). We were excited for the engagement photos because we don't often take pictures together, but this also made us a little nervous. Let me tell you, Nikki makes you feel so at ease and like total models! The whole time she was taking pictures she was making us laugh and giving us compliments. It was SO fun and the pictures came out so beautifully. We could not wait for the wedding photos!
In between the engagement pics and the wedding, Nikki periodically checked in and provided updates. With Nikki, you don't have to worry about anything - she is so on top of things. She sent us a timeline and was totally open to edits to it, and had us fill out a list of family portraits so she could make sure she captured all of the shots we wanted. A few weeks before the wedding, she even sent me a Starbucks gift card and said to have a drink on her since wedding planning can be so stressful. She's an angel!
The day of the wedding, Nikki and her second shooter, Cait, came to my hotel room and it was like having more best friends in the room. Nikki was calm but really excited for us and made me feel like a princess. She kept saying how beautiful I looked and how gorgeous the dress was. Both photographers started working quickly and captured both posed and candid shots. My absolute favorite was when Nikki arranged my bridesmaids for the "first look" of me in my dress. What a special moment! When I asked to take some other shots that we hadn't previously discussed, like a first look with my dad and some silly shots with a friend, Nikki was 100% on board. All of the family and wedding party portraits were quick and fun to take. Nikki acknowledges how weird some poses can feel (e.g., boobs to backs!) and it makes everyone feel so much more comfortable. I told my husband that one of my favorite parts of the wedding was taking our couple portraits together with Nikki. It was so nice to have some time just the two (three with Nikki :)) of us, and the pictures were really fun to take. Nikki periodically showed us shots on her camera and I was already blown away. The NEXT day, Nikki uploaded four edited shots from the wedding and I sobbed happy tears. They were so beautiful and looked like they were out of a magazine, yet also felt totally true to the relationship my husband and I have.
I will end this review by saying this: I am confident that if you hire Nikki Schell to photograph your wedding, she will be your favorite vendor and your best decision. -

How can I even describe how amazing Nikki is. Everything about her work is incredible and she was such a pleasure to work with. I have known Nikki since High School and I was so excited when I found out she was a photographer. I think that she ended up being the second thing we booked! We were engaged for a long time and she was super patient, kind and helpful throughout the entire planning process.
Everything on the wedding day was executed perfectly. She was on time, ready to work and adapting to our crazy day of schedule. She knew exactly what was going on and made you feel so relaxed - despite the 10,000 things running through your head! She delivered us 30 photos 4 hours after our reception ended! I couldn't believe what was infront of our eyes, she captured our love perfectly. We will never be able to express how thankful we are to have Nikki as the eye behind our day! She is a wonderful person and friend and we would recommend her over and over again! -

Nikki took our engagement and wedding pictures and she does not disappoint! I found Nikki on instagram after seeing that she photographed other weddings at our venue. I loved her light, whimsical, and romantic style and it was exactly the vibe of our wedding. Nikki is easy to work with, super personable, and makes you feel at ease - even with weird wedding poses!! It feels like she's your friend along the entire process --- she's helpful with not only pictures but timeline and any other random wedding questions.
I absolutely love our wedding pictures and have gotten so many compliments on them! I love looking at the gallery and each time I do I'm transported back to our day. Nikki captured so much emotion and it's amazing how she caught the perfect moment so many times!
Nikki is incredible, professional, and exactly who you want capturing your big day, engagement pictures, pregnancy, etc. I HIGHLY recommend her! -

Jane Sent on 09/09/2018Nikki is AMAZING. I cannot say enough good things about working with Nikki Schell Photography. When we first got engaged I said a photographer was high up on my list of priorities so we started searching. I came across Nikki's work on instagram & her beautiful, bright, colorful pictures instantly caught my attention. Her style and personality seemed just right for us so I contacted her. It was actually our initial correspondence that drew me to Nikki, her witty questionnaires and back and forth correspondence convinced me she was the one!
Nikki is everything you want in a photographer. She made the process so easy, was flexible and patient & her photos are obviously AMAZING. Our engagements photos were wonderful and we received so many compliments on our wedding website and save the date. We just knew she would be magic for the wedding and she did not disappoint.
We got married on the beach with over 200 people and about a 40 person wedding party haha which included a lot of kids. We really put her through the ringer but she was up to the challenge. Every single person raved about how amazing and professional she was. From handling the heat, to engaging with the kids, Nikki killed it! We also had a second shooter named Rachel who was an absolute delight to work with.
Nikki also was very involved with the reception, keeping people on track, relaying messages, we really couldn't have pulled the day off without her. If I could give her 8 stars I would! (8 for Ovechkin).
The last thing to note is how quickly she turned the photos around. It was so fun to see her posts and watch the teasers leading up to the final photos + her instagram stories make me laugh out loud. Finally, she sent us a beautifully framed photo of our favorite picture that is now hanging next to me as I write this. Needless to say we LOVED Nikki!
Make the best decision of your wedding and hire her! -

We chose her almost immediately due to her fun personality, professionalism, reasonable prices, willingness to travel (to our Myrtle Beach wedding), and—most of all—her incredible portfolio of work. Nikki took great care of us from start to finish. We were thrilled that her wedding package included engagement photos, which we may not have taken otherwise. This shoot allowed us to get more comfortable in front of the camera and have some gorgeous photos for our wedding guest book. When it came time for the wedding, Nikki was the perfect balance of easygoing and organized. She made sure to understand our requests and family dynamics well ahead of time so that we didn’t miss a photo. In addition, she made the effort to scout out our venue the night before (not expected when flying in for just over a 24-hour period) to find the best photo locations based on backgrounds and lighting. Everything ran incredibly smoothly, even when we inevitably got behind schedule, and I attribute a lot of that to Nikki. As for the photos, we received a preview almost immediately (in fact, Nikki began showing me some unedited pictures as early as the reception) and the full set within weeks. We truly cannot get over how beautiful they are and have not stopped getting compliments from family and friends. If that was not enough, about a month later we unexpectedly received a package—a large wall print, beautifully framed, from Nikki. This went above and beyond our expectations and is a gift we will never forget. I would highly recommend Nikki and will continue to use her for other photography needs.

She took both our engagement and wedding photos and we couldn't be happier with how comfortable she made us feel (we're usually super awkward on camera), the effort she put into getting to know us, and how beautifully her pictures turned out. Jordan Sent on 01/06/2018I cannot say enough about how amazing Nikki was. The photographer was probably the most important thing to us for our wedding. We were just so thrilled that someone with photos as beautiful as Nikki's, was actually within our budget. That said, she's got the talent to charge more than she does - so you truly get more than you're paying for. I instantly fell in love with her style, she has an amazing way of capturing all the color and life of a moment, but translating it in a way that's soft and dreamy. We did our engagement shoot with her first (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and even though my fiancé and I had never been photographed professionally before... and we are NOT the model type.... she made us feel SO relaxed and we had such a fun time walking around and taking photos. Nikki makes you feel like a million bucks! She'll look at her camera after a photo and say something like "oh my god you guys are too cute" or "ahhhhh"... Her excitement about her work shows that she's in this business for the right reasons. We got our engagement photos just 2-3 days after our shoot (wow!) and we were absolutely blown away. I mean, I expected good photos, but Nikki gave us AMAZING photos. And I'm very self conscious... she makes sure to capture you in such a flattering way, I couldn't believe how good (and natural) we looked! This made me SO excited for our wedding photos. And she did NOT disappoint. Nikki captured our big day with perfection. I can't stress this enough... she shot literally everything I wanted, and worked with us on a time crunch, getting us AMAZING keepsake memories that we'll have forever. Okay so enough about the pictures, you don't have to worry about that with Nikki. On to how she is to work with.... Nikki is so sweet and funny! She not only works well with the couple one-on-one, but your photographer actually pretty much has to deal with everyone that you have to deal with on your wedding day. And she does a great job.
