The Absolute Best
This review is LONG overdue, and I was reminded of that when I recently attended a company event with a photographer...and found myself realizing how excellent Neysha, and all the intangibles she brought.
Neysha shot my wife & I's engagement photos at the Capitol & Supreme Court before shooting our wedding at the Willard hotel in Washington, DC. I want to provide feedback on our experience of the quality of the photos she takes, the work she puts in as a coordinator/wrangler of the cats that are our crazy families, the cost/value of this service, and what it was like working with Neysha as a person.
Regarding the quality of photos: we were incredibly happy. The lighting, angles, poses, timing, groupings, and image quality were all top-notch. The posed/staged photos of the engagement shoot & family wedding pics to the candid shots of the dance floor are all so d*mn good. We legitimately had to figure out our digital storage situation because there wasn't a single photo we did not want to download.
Regarding all the work that goes into the previous paragraph: I had never worked with a professional photographer before where I'm being posed, taking tons of shots, and being told what to do for long periods of time. Neysha made us laugh, she helped us understand the process and the decisions being made, was always clear with directions, was firm yet friendly when we needed her to tell our family to hurry the h*ll up and get into place before it rained, and giving us her time and bringing in a colleague to help her capture more shots without charging us.
The previous paragraphs should speak for themselves on the cost and value of her service, but after consulting with MANY photographers (and florists, djs, venues, caterers....ya know) and receiving just as many quotes I can tell you that her prices are excellent and fair for any budget and that her services were perhaps the only part of our wedding that we look back on to this day and think what an amazing value we got.
Lastly, but certainly not least, was our experience of working with Neysha as human beings. We obviously loved her (and we continue to talk about how overdue we are to get a coffee with her...Neysha if you're reading this hit us up!!) but here's what you can expect when working with her: Neysha is a professional. She is timely, considerate, a crystal clear communicator, and outstanding at her craft. Neysha is also super chill. That may sound bro-y but that is just the best adjective I can think of. Her attitude and calm but fun demeanor helped us keep smiling when our feet were hurting and we were sweating our balls off in the DC heat doing a 2+ hour outdoor engagement shoot.
Here's the part of Neysha I came to appreciate the most, and that prompted me to write this overdue review after a company event w/a photographer: Neysha keeps it MOVING (without offending all the fragile egos of the family at a wedding). Have you ever tried to take two dozen shots of ten people who are all chatting and milling around? The best technical photographer in the world won't be able to make it out of the cocktail hour if they don't have the ability to command a room and herd all the cats. Neysha commands the room and herds the cats. But every single family member and all the bridal party folk told us after the wedding that they were so impressed with our photographer. And so were we. She got us shots we didn't know we needed or wanted. She went the extra mile at every step, and she was a joy to work with the entire time.
This loving review is 100% real and if you want a reference for her work I'd be glad to provide it: jhrohrer21@gmail.com
Sincerely,
Josh & Alex
