We had many guests tell us that was the best wedding they ever attended! Dana from Riverhouse Catering did a great job coordinating our event, attending to every detail and keep me sane. The venue itself is just beautiful so not much decoration needed. The food and service from Riverhouse was also fantastic. They kept our glasses and tummies full.

I would highly recommend the NBMAA and Riverhouse catering for a wedding or any big party - they do an amazing job!

We are so glad we chose NBMAA for our wedding venue. Dana (from Riverhouse Catering, the venue's exclusive caterer) was an absolute dream to work with, and we totally trusted her with coordinating and executing the details of our big day! She made the process as stress-free as possible, despite the fact that we live in the DC area and did most of our planning remotely.
Jake (also from Riverhouse) ran the show on the day of our event and did an amazing job; he and the catering team made sure we didn't go hungry (or thirsty) throughout the evening!
We got so many compliments on our choice of venue ("How did you FIND this place?"). Our guests were able to explore all the exhibits throughout the night, so there was always something for the non-dancers to do.
We cannot recommend NBMAA enough! Our wedding was amazing and we can't wait to go back and visit again!

We had been to the NBMAA twice before and enjoyed our visits both times (both for different night time events). The rental fee is not the cheapest we looked at, but I think it ended up being worth it. So many of our guests commented on how cool a museum was for a wedding and they had some great shots on/under/in front of artwork. It also took some pressure off of us having to decorate more!

The best thing about having the wedding at the museum was the fact that each part of the evening was in a different room so you didn't have to scramble. Our ceremony was in the long downstairs gallery at the foot of the stairs, cocktails right above that on the second floor (with elevator), dinner in the lecture-type room, and dancing in the cafe. The cafe is so perfect for dancing. Enough room to spread out, but not so much room that the floor felt empty. The rooms all looked great, felt fancy and fun. There really are lots of cool spots in and outside to take photos, too. You get some unique shots!

And after the fact I realized hey, we can come back any time we want to visit the museum and relive our fun memories! To add, we did have good interaction/communication with Dana (venue/catering) throughout our engagement process.

We decided to have our wedding at the New Britain Museum of American Art prior to being engaged! We loved its uniqueness, ambiance, and size. We loved that our guests were able to walk through the entire museum throughout our wedding. The beautiful art along with the picturesque park offered an amazing backdrop for pictures and our guests enjoyment! My husband and I still get compliments on our choice of venue, a year later!
