I first reached out to Nancy over email and she responded later that same day - we corresponded over what I might like, and I sent her pictures of her past work that I was interested in to give her a vague idea of what I was looking for. From there she was able to give me a price estimate and the time frame it would take for her to make either a brocade or a lace qipao. She was really clear about fabric vs. labor costs; her pricing was always transparent and without my asking she broke down the costs of specific fabrics, piping, and labor for different options and levels of detail. Anyone coming to her with a tight and strict budget would find all her detailed and (readily volunteered) pricing information incredibly helpful.

It took Nancy about 5 weeks to complete the qipao in August-September for my November wedding. She was very easy to work with and I would totally recommend her to anyone looking to have a custom qipao made.

Nancy was able to sketch for me a sample of what she had in mind for my dress. she delivered to me a beautiful red, lace gown that met the approval of my very traditional Chinese mother. I had a simple request for the owner to hem the bottom of my dress, so that I would not trip over my dress when walking during the wedding day. The dress was not hemmed as asked, and as a result, I tripped over the dress throughout the day, so much so that my heel poked 3 holes in the bottom of the dress. When I asked the owner to refund me for the service which was clearly not fulfilled, she not only refused to refund me, but turned the scenario on me and criticized me for bringing this to her on her day off. I would never trust my wedding dress with this shop. She said she may "consider" fixing.
