Attack of the phsyco wedding planner!
Natalie is hands down the craziest and most incompetent person I have ever worked with! She made countless mistakes, got upset with me about the decor I wanted for MY OWN WEDDING, and constantly needed to reschedule.
She made a HUGE mistake with our tent rentals that would have left us spending $900 more than needed and with 3 extra tents! When I told her there was an error she said it was just inflation and I should drink a Diet Coke about it!!
I explained to her that I would NOT be spring more than needed and that I would be sending a follow up email for all of our virtual/phone meetings to and expected her to reply back with any additions or corrections within one business day. I did this because she said a lot of things one the phone and then they could be backed up when the rubber hit the road. Well she dragged this out to be and HOURS long ordeal and when she finally realized she did make a mistake she sent an email telling me to fire her if I felt like it but that she wouldn’t give me a refund. She was paid in full at this point and I definitely didn’t want to fire her! I didn’t hear from her for like 2 weeks after I told her I still wanted the services I paid for!
She hired an assistant for the wedding and told me I needed to pay for her because she just couldn’t do it with only her mom and husband helping. Then six weeks later emailed me to say she was no longer part of the team but that she had it all handled?
We went through 3 catering contracts under her council and when I asked to make a back up plan just in case she told me not to worry about last minute cancelations and that she would handle it.
I decided to fire her when my venue owner texted me to say she hadn’t been paid- Natalie was supposed to remind me! She had done such an awful job and made so many errors. Our catering quote had 60 prices of bacon for 100 people at a brunch wedding! She stopped replying to emails all together. She was a nightmare!
Finally I fired her, and within hours she had deleted EVERYTHING! the website, the RSVP list, the seating chart, the timelines, the vendor list, the to do lists, I mean everything. She told me I could either have $437.50 OR the work I had ALREADY PAID HER TO DO for the five weeks before my wedding.
Her payment schedule is half on sign on, half 2 weeks before the wedding. I had paid her in full like a fool and asked for 1/3rd back. This was totally reasonable.
I had to set up the day before my wedding and got the worst sunburn ever for it! I decided to sue her and she strung that out! The sherrif tried to serve her 3 times and couldn’t, so I had to hire a separate server. She went to her door 2 times, and saw her in the window once and still Natalie never opened the door.
Unfortunately, I was left with no choice. Using some information she had casually given me months before, I was able to track down a wedding I knew she’d be at (unless that bride fired her too lol!) and had the process server get her there. The serve was on time and Natalie was 45 minutes late to set up! She in a rush introduced herself to my process server and got handed papers. I am so sorry C and E, I didn’t want to do it this way. I hope she didn’t ruin your wedding because of it!
It took a LOT of back and forth but she finally settled and I got most my money back. Natalie, SHAME ON YOU.
