We were introduced to Eric by Magnolia Manor - the venue for our daughter's wedding. We met with him and his staff to go over the music. My daughter had emailed him a selection of music she was interested in having and he had practiced it since it was music he wasn't accustomed to playing. He offered us exceptional advice and guided us in making the final selections. He and his staff attended the wedding rehearsal to time how long it took for each of the parties to walk down the aisle and adjusted the music accordingly. He was extremely professional and is an extremely talented musician. As a member of the NC Symphony, he has numerous contacts to bring in other instruments you may be interested in.

If you have always imagined having strings at your ceremony this would be a good place to start. Music at Portridge, lead by Eric of the North Carolina Symphony are not only beautifully talented musicians but are professional, accommodating, and overall a joy to work with. I received their name through my Venue (Magnolia Manor of Warrenton, NC). From the moment I reached out to Eric I was greeted with "old world" hospitality of tea and tea cookies. They have you come by their time kept farm house to allow you to sample their beautiful music, and lay out your own selection. They guide you through the feel of the ceremony, and flow of the ceremony. Eric's daughter, is the definition of time keeper. She has the flow of the music down to the foot step of each party member. In other words, you don't find many people who keep their business practices in step with their pride, integrity, kindness, and joy.
Side note, they are also available to play during dinner or the reception. I just had them for the ceremony.
