Morada is an open-air wedding venue located in Joshua Tree, California. With 350 acres of untouched Mojave Desert, the estate offers soon-to-be-weds a chance to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Any couple’s romantic event will be surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges and romantic sunsets during the evening, providing a stunning, photo-ready backdrop.
Facilities and Capacity
The estate was first designed as a music retreat for artists. They then decided to open it to visitors seeking a place to host their life-changing events. These open sandy grounds can now accommodate weddings of various sizes, from intimate elopements to ceremonies and receptions with up to 150 people. Rocky mountains, cacti, and other desert plants surround the event space to add to your SoCal atmosphere. This custom-built, 1950s-style pueblo home acts as a relaxing oasis for soon-to-be-weds and their loved ones to enjoy their ceremony and reception. The main house features three bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and living room, and an impressive Spanish-style fireplace for visitors to relax by. Couples and their wedding party will be welcome to use the main home as a dressing suite or either a stay overnight. Just outside the main house is a 1900-square-foot lounge, where couples and their entourage can enjoy their cocktails and dinners alongside the sweeping views. A large pool and Jacuzzi are also present for you to enjoy a relaxing swim under the sun and stars. You will also have access to the studio guest house, The Hideaway, which features top of the line instruments and a full stage.
The team behind Morada offers various packages to ensure that couples have exclusive access to the grounds during their big day. You are more than welcome to select your own vendors, from your florist to caterers, to help you achieve your dream design. From your engagement party to your day-after brunch, the team will make sure that all of your romantic events match your nuptial vision.

The Morada in Joshua Tree
Pick this Venue!
The house/property itself is stunning. Truly, jaw dropping beautiful. I will also add that staying there is very easy and comfortable, so if you can spring for that in your budget it is worth it. We stayed there all weekend with our friends (leading up to the weekend) and loved lounging by the pool during the day and sitting by the fire pit at night. It is the perfect distance from the main strip in town (so close, 10 mins) and also secluded enough to feel like you are out IN nature. ALL of our wedding guests and family were raving about how beautiful it is and how peaceful the property vibes are too! It was also an added lovely touch that the casita and house can separate our the wedding parties when getting ready.
The nature surrounding the property is unbeatable. Stunning sunrises and sunsets. The star gazing is also super clear at night. There are a million little places you can take pictures and some literally PERFECT backdrops for the ceremony, family pics, and portraits.
Honestly if you are planning a wedding out in Joshua Tree, pick this venue. It is easy to create the vibe you want for your event, and you will be so relaxed and feel the peace and beauty of Joshua Tree the whole time!
