The venue was exactly what I was looking for. It fit my theme for our vow renewal. The only thing is their response time. They can work on this.

Got married here in 06/23. The venue is a beautiful space to host a wedding. When I stepped foot in there I instantly fell in love with Spanish style - very photogenic with a lot of character. It is clean and well kept. Parking was fine for our guests. Bar service was great. Arranging tours and tastings wasn’t too difficult. Getting pricing wasn’t too difficult and pricing was within our range. Great bridal suite. My less than perfect score is mostly related to the management. This venue was my greatest source of stress as I planned our wedding. It’s not very customer/couple-centered. Let’s start with communication. The owner is very difficult to get ahold of; several things I needed to get done were delayed waiting on responses from the venue. During our meetings, she constantly took phone calls that interrupted our meetings, texted while we were talking to her, side-stepped our questions and made us feel rushed. Not to mention she can at times be passive aggressive/snappy. Our quotes constantly had errors and you are not even provided a formal contract (just a hand-written piece of paper) which felt unprofessional. Prepare to be frustrated with this aspect of your planning process. Next up: the food. We tasted 4 different dishes and went with chicken Alfredo which was delicious…at the time. At our reception, the food (at least what my husband and I were served) tasted nothing like our sample; it was cold, the pasta was undercooked and the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. I was honestly embarrassed my guests had to eat it (not to mention we dropped lots of $$$ to go through their catering). I recommend getting an outside food vendor if you plan to get married here. Next up: linens. Since we chose to go with their catering, they provided linens. When I got there to set up, the linens were all wrinkled and I was told they’d be steamed in time for the reception. They never were, so our guests dined on wrinkled table cloths. The white linens also were not big enough for the tables so they had to overlap 2 which looked tacky. Next up: miscellaneous things. Later in the evening at the reception the other owner (Naomi’s husband, I presume) stood at the outskirts of our dance floor, dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, glaring at our guests for maybe 15-20 minutes - this made the women dancing feel very uncomfortable and we found his behavior bizarre and rude…no idea what he was doing. The venue also got super hot in the evening - our guests were sweating. There’s a lot more I could say but I chose to share only my biggest qualms. Veronica, who is one of their coordinators, was their saving grace. She has attention to detail, often corrected mistakes made by the owner and was incredibly helpful the day of our wedding. I hope what I’ve shared will help/prepare the next couple who considers Avila’s. I think if you ask the right questions and know what to watch out for while working with Avila’s, you can still have a great wedding here. Good luck!
