The Moorestown Ballroom is a historic mansion with a ballroom in the Southern New Jersey area where couples can host their weddings. This classic 1920s English-style home has plenty of vintage features to catch a couple’s eye. Using the brick exterior as a backdrop or celebrating inside a room with high ceilings and wooden accents, couples will find themselves whisked away to the past for their romantic wedding day. This venue is located just 25 minutes across the Delaware River from downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Facilities and Capacity
This venue welcomes as many as 200 guests to a couple’s wedding. At the Moorestown Ballroom, couples can begin their wedding events with a timeless ceremony on the venue’s lawn. Couples can choose to have the mansion’s exterior facade at either end of their aisle. Facing the venue, the red brick and gray shingles make a charming backdrop for the ceremony and many of the photographs that will be taken of it. At the other end of the aisle, couples can begin in the stunning mansion and use it for their grand entrance to the ceremony. In this arrangement, other charming houses in the town, mostly obscured by thick tree foliage, make the backdrop for the wedding day. This mansion venue also boasts a brick patio and a garden area bursting with blooms on the exterior. This makes an idyllic area for cocktails before the main reception, giving couples time to take a substantial amount of wedding photographs. Everyone can then come together in the ballroom of this venue. The Moorestown Ballroom features extra high ceilings with wooden accents running across in a pattern of squares and smaller squares. From these spaces hang vintage chandeliers and recessed lights add additional luminescence. At one end of the ballroom couples will find a large wooden stage built into the wall, perfect for bands or a DJ. Smaller rooms at this ballroom venue offer private locations for more intimate receptions, ceremonies or other wedding events: such as bridal showers.
Prior to the engaging events of their wedding day, couples can take time to relax in the venue’s personal bridal suites. This relaxation comes courtesy of event planning assistance from the venue’s staff, along with other much needed services such as setup. The Moorestown Ballroom offers event items and rentals for a couple’s wedding day, with items including but not limited to chairs, a dance floor, furniture, and tables for couples to use. Couples can guarantee that their vendor knows the mansion well and is vetted, as only recommended and preferred vendors may cater to couples on their wedding day at the Moorestown Ballroom. Wireless Internet and onsite parking make this venue a dream for the guests in attendance as well.
In 1923, Eldridge Reeves Johnson donated a large sum of money to build a community center in Moorestown, New Jersey. Johnson, who founded the Victor Talking Machine Company in 1901, agreed to build the community center after being approached by a member of the Moorestown Woman’s Club. The facility was built in a combination of English and Colonial styles to keep upkeep costs low. These two styles used many brick and stone, instead of more traditional wooden, elements. Since its conception and completion, the house has undergone many renovations and refurbishments.

We Loved It!
My husband and I got married at the Community House on 02/28/20, right before everything got shut down! We were so fortunate to be able to have our wedding and even more grateful to have it at the Community House. From the minute I saw the Community House I was in love. I walked into the library and knew that was where we were going to get married. I literally started crying. Joan was so accommodating in every regard while planning our wedding and was great about recommending vendors since we were from out of town. Everything about our day at the Community House was perfect. From getting ready together in the beautiful bridal suite, to pictures all over the historic grounds, an amazing ceremony in the library, and an amazing party with cafe lights in the ballroom-- I could not have pictured a more perfect day! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful romantic place to get married and to be able to make your experience unique to youSent on 05/02/2020

Christmas Winter Wedding
The Moorestown Community House was the perfect place for our winter wedding, the Saturday before Christmas. This venue is vintage elegant, and our guests have raved to us time and again how unique and intimate it was. We had a truly magical & romantic Christmas wedding here. A huge bonus is that we were able to utilize the space for the entire day. There is a beautiful bridal suite that is very spacious and perfect for getting ready. Multiple rooms are utilized for the big day so your guests will experience not only a ballroom, but additional rooms for cocktail hour & dessert and a ceremony space. We chose the library for our ceremony which is pictured below! I am still so in love with the mansion and could not have been more thrilled to be married in such a gorgeous venue.Sent on 05/22/2020

We had our DREAM wedding at the Community House of Moorestown. As soon as my future husband and I saw the building, we knew it was the perfect fit for our wedding day. We loved the 1920s look of the building. Having the bridal/groom suites upstairs to get ready was seriously a lifesaver! I felt like I could really enjoy the day and not worry about everyone getting from the hair salon, to pictures, to the ceremony, to the venue, etc. They have a beautiful outdoor ceremony space, but we fell in love with the look of the Library and had our ceremony there. The balcony around the room, high ceilings, great big window letting natural light in, it was an enchanting space. The ballroom was a perfect space for the reception. We felt like a king and queen in front of the fireplace using their using their antique table and chairs for the sweetheart table. Each room in the Community House is very unique and beautiful! Joan was great to work with and was quick to answer our questions. Absolutely beautiful place to get married!Sent on 09/15/2019
