About

Contemporary meets industrial

The striking Mill City Museum is built amid the ruins of the Washburn A Flour Mill, a National Historic Landmark. Major renovations began in 2001 to bring the 120-year old building into the 21st century. The award-winning architectural design combines relics of the mill's past with modern steel, brick and wood to create a contemporary, industrial space that beautifully preserves the building's historic integrity. Weathered masonry walls frame a delightfully unpretentious 100 x 100 foot outdoor courtyard, with other spaces in the building boasting a similarly industrial feel, allowing room for up to 500 guests. For all its raw authenticity, the Mill City Museum is a modern charmer.

It took my husband and I ages and ages to find venue that combined the feeling of being inside and out, that also didn't cost us an arm and a leg. Mill City was perfect right from the beginning. We met with Amy who would become our wedding consultant. She was a total rock star with helping us with all things wedding related. The day of we didn't have to do anything because everything was taken care of by them. Mill City is a truly beautiful and unique venue and I'd recommend it to anyone.

The Mill City Museum is a beautiful place to have your wedding and reception. The courtyard is open-air, framed by the crumbling ruins of an old, burned-out mill, and you can see the Mississippi River from inside the courtyard. It creates a regal and unique setting. The museum staff works well with D'Amico, which is the event planner/caterer who services the museum. I can't say enough about how beautiful this is. (the price range refers to the actual rental price of the space, not the catering price, which is higher)

Mill City Museum is booked through D'Amico so they do the catering if you use the space. I loved D'Amico and they were wonderful to work with and did a great job. Mill City was an absolutely beautiful space and we had a wonderful ceremony and reception. I was told that the space was a more difficult one to work with for a wedding (there is a large upper space for dinner and then a lower portion for a dance floor and bar plus an outdoor deck and exterior rail) but I thought that everything worked out perfectly. It was a little tough for everyone to see the first dance, but tons of people liked being able to take a break on the deck or grab and drink and then go back to dancing. We could not have been happier with our venue choice!!!

This is the best, most unique venue in the Twin Cities. Everyone commented about how much they liked it. It really was beautiful for an old, burned down flower mill :)

I loved the venue! We got married in the courtyard outside and had our reception inside.

The Mill City Museum was a fantastic venue for a wedding. The "All inclusive" nature of the event was excellent. The catering was amazing, the décor was inviting and stylish. I will certainly recommend this venue to anyone asking for a recommendation!

We received so many compliments about this venue! The staff at D'Amico were very easy to work with and made sure all the details were taken care of. The food was delicious - many of our guests went out the way to tell us how much they liked our cake (banana chocolate)! I highly recommend both this venue and this catering company. Specifically Jessica K. from D'Amico - she was wonderful!

This venue is incredible and beautiful. Working with Amy from D'amico catering throughout the whole process was also great. She is flexible and a great planner. The venue messed up my ceremony seating and had multiple people out to help change the seating within minutes. You won't be disappointed if you can afford to go with this venue. Ask to get photos on the sky deck, we did this little known secret at sundown between the ceremony and reception, and I can't wait to see the photos!
