Located in Burlington, Wisconsin, Mercantile Hall is an industrial-chic venue nestled in the midst of the historic downtown area. The management of this locale invites couples that are seeking an urban setting crossed with a cozy small town ambience. This venue will surely make a remarkable and non-traditional backdrop for your special celebration.
Facilities and Capacity
The Mercantile Hall staff take pride in their distinctive venue and have included novel design features for your guests to enjoy during your event. This climate-controlled property is available to host indoor wedding festivities for up to 220 guests, all year round. The Hall features an industrial style with exposed brick walls and the building's original honey-toned hardwood floors. The adjacent outdoor space, The Urb Garden, offers a marvelous option for your cocktail hour or ceremony. Features of this option include wrought-iron entrance gates, a gas lantern, a stunning cedar pergola, a crisp sound system, and a vintage camper trailer bar. This trailer has been restored and given a new lease of life, making it a great way to treat your guests to a welcome beverage or evening cocktails. Furthermore, the comfort and convenience of all guests is important to this venue’s staff. To this end, this venue includes wheelchair-accessible features, ample nearby parking, and a pet-friendly ethos.
Mercantile Hall is available to host wedding ceremonies and receptions, as well as engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and elopements. Your site fee includes planning, setup, and cleanup for your event. Additionally, you will have the use of a dressing suite, tables, chairs, linens, audio-visual equipment, and parking. This venue’s staff offer affordable in-house packages for bartending and DJ services, and can also advise on suitable local vendors. For an additional fee, the staff will provide day-of coordination and event rentals such as custom bar signage.
This venue was constructed before the end of the 19th century, serving as a mercantile (a retailer), a department store, and a furniture store. A huge fire swept through the building in 2014, but there was an incredible discovery made in the cleanup. The original hardwood floors had survived, protected beneath a fireproof polyester covering. This and the brick walls inspired a new chapter in the story of this building, turning it into an authentically unique setting for special events.
