Hiring Melanie to document our wedding was one of the best choices we made! She is my #1 vendor recommendation! I have admired her work for years and knew as soon as I got engaged that I wanted Melanie to photograph our wedding! When I initially reached out, she was super quick to respond and we set up a meeting. She is so easy to talk to and work with, that it was really easy to describe everything we were looking for! We quickly booked our wedding and engagement shoot with her!

We took our engagement photos in Santa Barbara and Melanie makes it so fun and relaxing to take photos! If you aren't used to it, it can be really awkward at first, but she cracks jokes, gives you a million compliments, and cheers you on to let you know you look amazing! She does a great job giving suggestions of how to pose so that you both look great. We had a great time and laughed the entire session as we took photos! It was so much fun!

We got our engagement photos back pretty quickly and they were BEAUTIFUL! Better than I could have imagined! Melanie has such a great eye and is able to use natural light to create the most amazing photos!

She stayed in touch throughout the few months leading up the wedding and had an easy online questionnaire where we were able to fill out all of the photos that we wanted. She helped to create our day of timeline and gave some great suggestions!
On the day of, she showed up on time and with a fabulous 2nd photographer, Jenna. They were both such a ray of sunshine that day and were laughing, throwing out compliments and having a great time. You can tell that they truly love what they do and that shows in their work.

Melanie made us feel so comfortable taking our photos on our wedding day and we are so glad we did the engagement session with her because we felt like pro models on the day of. She scouted amazing photo spots at our venue and helped me fan out my dress's train probably a million times. My dress kept catching little wood chips in it and her and Jenna helped to pull them out of the lace on my dress so many times! They were so helpful!

Melanie does such a great job of also blending into the background where we forgot we had a photographer following us around at certain times! During family photos, she made it so easy and painless, I was amazed at how little time it took to get all the shots that we wanted because she was so organized!


When we got out wedding photos back, I could hardly believe how great they were! We got back over 1000 photos and every single one is amazing. You can tell that she truly puts time and effort into every shot that she takes. I look at my photos more than I want to admit, and every time I'm just so happy that they came out they way they did. We have these amazing memories to look back at and I am so grateful to Melanie for helping us capture the best day of our life!

Melanie has been so great to work with. She is very professional, communicative, friendly and accommodating -- all the things you want in a photographer for your wedding day. Being that she doesn't live just right around the corner from us she made herself available to video chat to introduce herself. We knew right away that she would be the person we would want to work with. Our personalities just meshed so perfectly.

It is wonderful how she makes the extra effort to check in with us every now and then to see if there is anything we need or any questions we may have as we get closer to our wedding day. She provides you with a short questionnaire that helps her create a timeline for your day, which I find to be very helpful. Melanie offers recommendations on what she feels would produce beautiful photos, but she also likes your input on what it is that YOU want photos of for your day.

I can't even begin to describe how extremely grateful I am to have found Melanie. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer. She made us feel so comfortable and her sense of humor just made it all the better. She helped us capture all the moments that meant the most to us and went above and beyond our expectations. She was willing to do anything and everything to capture the perfect shot.
