My wedding at McGregor was absolutely stunning. My guests are still raving about how beautiful and unique it was. For architecture fans, you can't go wrong with this beautiful mid-century modern Yamasaki building. The skylights alone make this a perfect place to experience the beauty of natural lighting year-round without having to plan for weather contingencies. In the warmer months, the reflection pond just outside make for an even more dramatic backdrop.

The parking does require some extra time for guests that aren't familiar with Wayne State's campus, and the communication was slow at times, but the staff was wonderful and the food was outstanding. We had our ceremony and reception there and the prior planning made the transition seamless for our guests. The price includes the entire building, so we were able to have a bridal suite and a groom suite there too. (They even had portable full length mirrors and clothes racks!) The upstairs "bridge" was a perfect spot for the DJ to setup, yet not take up precious reception floor space. By McGregor being centrally located in Midtown Detroit, we were close to many popular photo locations without having to stray too far for too long during the cocktail hour.

I think McGregor is a great value in terms of price and wow factor. Additionally, this building photographs so well that beautiful wedding photos are all but guaranteed. If I had to do it all again, I'd still pick this venue. I'm so glad we have this gem available for events.

DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE!! My fiancé and I fell in love with this venue for the architecture, however after being lied to about guest count and dates and our emails and phone calls being ignored for more than 6 weeks we gave up and booked somewhere else. The staff here is very unprofessional and rude, don’t waste you’re time!
