McGoverns on the Water is a banquet hall wedding venue located in Fall River, Massachusetts. Facilities and Capacity

McGoverns on the Water features romantic indoor and outdoor event spaces. You and your partner can exchange vows against the scenic backdrop of Laurel Lake’s tranquil waters. The grounds boast a classic white gazebo that you can personalize with your decor and floral arrangements. Your guests will be seated on the surrounding patio so they can share in your special moment. After the knot is tied, you can host your cocktail hour on the patio while soaking in the waterfront view. Your celebration continues in the Killarney Room, which features a beautiful brick fireplace. If you marry in the colder months, you and your guests can enjoy the heat from this traditional wood-burning hearth. The room can be set up with elegant round banquet tables and has space for dancing.

Above and Beyond

We chose MCGOVERN’S for our August wedding and could not have asked for a better experience! Kathy and Joe went above and beyond to make our day amazing. Our wedding photos came out beautifully against the background of the water and gazebo. It was just so convenient for our guests to attend the reception and ceremony all in one location. There was plenty of parking for all of our guests and the food was outstanding! The servers and bartender were all so kind. If we had to do it all over again we would pick this location without hesitation!!

Outstanding service

I had the best wedding at McGovern’s. Kathy and her staff go above and beyond for you . The food is fantastic . They decorated for my wedding just the way I wanted . I fell in love with this place as soon as I saw the beautiful gazebo by lake , so pretty.

Amazing Venue

There aren’t enough words I can say about this venue, Kathy and Joey!! They vent above and beyond to make our day amazing! We were blown away at how beautiful the room looked! The service and food was amazing! Thank you all

Great service

They were so accomodating to our needs with such short notice. Food was delicious with big portions and staff was great. Room was decorated perfectly. It was just as I had hoped. The grounds are perfect for beautiful photos. Highly recommended!

I can’t even begin to explain how absolutly perfect our wedding day way. We were just looking to have a fun party with our family and friends but we ended up having the fairytail wedding we never even knew we wanted! We selected Mcgoverns because we had done many events with them in the past and the food and service was always great and their packages included so many of the extras that other venues charge alot extra for (cake, centerpieces, linens). But little did we know the way they handle weddings is on a whole other level! Kathy was always so great with all the planning and so enthusiastic and detailed! I’m the fourth daughter and my parents have been through this 3 times prior and every time we met with her they couldn’t get over all the details she covered and were kicking themselves for not having considered them in the past. Everything was so beautiful and the food was endless and delicious. And above all else was Joey! Oh my god, I can’t even express how amazing he was. He made sure we had everything we needed before we even needed it, he bustled my dress once pictures were over, he let us know when we needed to be somewhere (because you tend to lose track of time) and he made sure everthing was perfect for us at every moment. I used to roll my eyes when people would say their wedding was the best day ever but it was truely amazing!

McGovern's was amazing! All of my guests were complimenting about how wonderful of a job they did! Kathy was awesome, we had meetings every few months so she could make sure that I was on track with everything and she gave me some helpful advice along the way! Joey was extremely helpful on the day of our wedding! We are so happy that we chose to having our reception there, from the service to the food, I cannot say enough! The flaming dessert and the show they put on is a must! All of my guests were raving about how much food there was and how delicious it was! They gave to-go containers for those that couldn't finish their meals, that's how much food there was! Highly recommend them! Pricing was extremely reasonable!

You get so much for a great price. The food is so good, the staff are great and the price is unbeatable!! Beautiful grounds to take pictures. You can get married outside in the gazebo. They take pride in their work!!

Cathy is amazing and all of her staff is as well. They were extremely attentive and made sure that my husband and I didn't have to ask for anything. When we arrived the drinks we wanted as well as hors d'oeuvres were waiting for us outside when we arrived. Joey was amazing and made I had everything I needed all night. When my dress needed adjusting and the bustle needed to be fixed it he did it without me asking! The food was amazing and we are kind of bummed that we can't order what we ate at the restaurant as they only serve it for weddings and special occasions. The pricing was reasonable and included everything from the food to the linens. If you are looking for quality and a good prices, McGovern's is the way to go!

McGovern's truly made our wedding amazing. All of the meetings we had with Kathy and the rest of the staff helped put us at ease through the entire event. They made sure we were on track with everything and had things planned on time. They also gave us tips and ideas for things that we weren't even planning on doing. The room looked amazing, and the food and service were out of this world. The appetizers just kept coming the entire time of the cocktail hour, and then we had an amazing dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful all night. Everyone was impressed with the service and food of McGovern's. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to have their wedding there.
