Working with Matei was an absolute joy. I am someone who gets easily overwhelmed and over stimulated and quite shy which is a stressful when combined with having a 350 person wedding. Matei’s calm demeanor and ability to intuitively tell what I needed was perfect. I never felt overly posed and moved around. The pictures his team delivered were absolutely beautiful, full of life and movement, true to color, and natural.

My husband and I hired Matei and team for our wedding a few months ago and we had such a great experience! Besides the actual photos (which blew us away...our friends and family are in disbelief with how amazing they turned out), the full experience with Matei/Viv/Phantia was seamless end to end.

When reaching out to different vendors for our wedding, we felt like Phanita and Matei were extremely genuine and we loved that they were so familiar with south asian wedding events and customs. During the months leading up to it, the team was super responsive and easy to work with.

On the weekend of, they showed up early - sometimes even earlier than we got there - to make sure everything was set and they had some ideas of where to shoot. Viv was so wonderful and creative to work with for our pre-wedding events. Matei looked like a proud dad all weekend :D and was overall a very calming presence. They knew all our vendors well and worked seamlessly together to make it happen.


Now the photos - really well done and tastefully edited. We got a TON, ~1600, across 4 events , and Matei got it done weeks earlier than expected. While the portraits are beautiful, my favorite ones are the candid shots he captured so beautifully. Every little memory you have from the wedding...trust me he got a picture of it!

Overall, I couldn't be happier with the experience of working with Matei. After following him on Instagram for years and seeing the photography he produced, we had high expectations, and he truly exceeded all of them; we would recommend him 1000x over!

Let me start off by saying that I’ve never, ever been at a loss for words. When I got Matei’s email with our wedding photos, I was truly speechless.

I never wanted to plan a wedding – so much so that we organized the entire 200-person tropical Indian fusion beach wedding in 2.5 months from across the country. The one thing I truly cared about was the photos. I looked at hundreds of photographers but the one that really stood out was Matei- he captured emotion, caught the joy and color of each day, and created artwork rather than awkward posed pictures. There was an obvious difference between him and every other wedding photographer. I never in a million years thought he’d be free on such short notice, but the stars aligned!

On our wedding day, I got locked in a stairwell and showed up to the venue 2 hours late. For whatever reason, our photo list was also missing and our not-so-great wedding planner had me in a frenzy. Matei immediately put us at ease and jumped right into action. My husband and I are awkward AF in front of the camera but he worked his magic and made everything seem natural and fun. I barely noticed we were taking photos- we were just having a good time. The sunset shots were the favorite part of my husband's day because it was the only time “it was just us hanging out”. My parents and extended family loved Matei and still talk about him to this day. I actually don’t remember much about our wedding (whoops!) but I remember giving him a hug goodbye and wishing he could stay.

I was awestruck when I got our photos. Each of them told a beautiful story. His pictures were poignant and cheeky, humorous and ironic. He captured culture and tradition elegantly and creatively, without being cheesy. He also somehow caught the most meaningful moments and expressions of the day. We got the posed couple photos and the group shots but were blessed with so much more. He won’t just take a photo of your “people we wish could have been here” table- he’ll take a candid photo of your great aunt in her wheelchair taking an iphone pic of her long-gone parents, smiling with her eyes. He won’t force a million photos of your toddler flower girls until they’re reduced to tears- he’ll snap a shot of one of them trying to drink a Corona that you can frame.

I panicked after the wedding day because I was worried that my lack of a photo list meant that we’d have none of the photos that I wanted. Matei called me from another job to reassure me that I’d be happy and to give him a chance. I have to admit that he nailed it. If he hadn’t read my mind and gotten the photo I wanted, he’d captured the natural, warm moments before and after it….and it was so much more special. He is responsive, professional, thoughtful, and accommodating and he goes above and beyond for his clients.

My only regret is not telling him to come to the hotel earlier and not asking him to stay later to capture the end of the night. THANK YOU, Matei. You and your team are extraordinary.

…I told you I’ve never been speechless!

It's hard to believe it's been three years since our wedding in 2017- time has flown by but the beautiful pictures that Matei and his team captured bring us right back to that special day. Matei is hands-down the BEST, most talented photographer we have ever met. We've recommended him to everyone we know, and it was such a pleasure working with him and his team from start to finish. Matei is nothing short of professional, caring, attentive, and extremely creative. Highly recommend!

Matei has been my family's top choice for years! He recently shot my engagement session and his work is pure magic!! My fiancé and I cannot get over how amazing the pictures turned out!! It has been 9 months since my husband and I got married. Looking back, hiring Mattei and his team was the best decision we made. He and Vivian are so talented and captured our special memories in some of the most beautiful photos I have even seen.
