We love Mama and her food!!! Mama's Hot Tamales is a true LA institution and I'm so glad that we had the sudden inspiration to see if they did events. Mama Sandi is an amazing person and she was a pleasure to work with, never getting annoyed when I changed our order for the nth time. She was warm and welcoming, especially during our tasting with both sets of parents. She made up a great menu, sat down with us, and tasted everything along with us- it felt like a fun family dinner. She was open to any suggestions we had and seemed to truly appreciate the feedback. We mentioned that we were interested in having Chinese duck buns as an appetizer and she was totally down to try it out. She and her chef did some research and gave it their best shot. Pretty impressive!
In preparation for the big day, it seemed like Mama was excited as we were. She even got colorful ties for the wait staff to go with the venue. On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly and our guests were VERY happy with the food. The spinach mushroom tamales are my favorite!
If you aren't familiar with Mama's Hot Tamales, they also run a non-profit that helps small food vendors. They are involved with lots of community events and are really involved in the area. I'm glad that we were able work with Mama's, a local vendor that does great work in the community.
