I used Makeup Box for hair/makeup for myself and three bridesmaids for my August 2010 wedding. Judy and Moon were incredibly responsive to our needs and flexible when the day-of schedule changed several times in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Judy is incredible with makeup - she was able to work really well with the different skin tones of my bridesmaids and make each girl look gorgeous in her own way. I'm Asian and had been told by other makeup artists that my complexion is hard to match, but that was not a problem at all for Judy. She was also a really calming presence, which was great for pre-ceremony jitters. The hairstyles and makeup held up throughout the entire day and looked amazing in pictures. I would highly recommend Makeup Box to other brides for their professionalism, level of skill, and kindness. Totally worth the money!

Being an Asian woman, it was hard for me to find a makeup artist to suit my needs. I did countless online searches for artists who had experience with Asian faces and tried going to different makeup artists, all to disappointing results. While the other artists did a good enough job, none of them created any looks that were very special or memorable. If anything, it just looked like I had a lot of makeup on, and who wants a overly colorful, caked-on face at their own wedding? (Or anywhere, for that matter.) Finding the right wedding makeup artist was to me like finding THE dress - and just as, if not more, important. And just like you have that "omg this is it" moment when you find your dress, so it should be with the right makeup - it just all clicks, and there's no doubt in your mind that your search has ended.

When I did my trial run with Judy, I hadn't expected the results to be so great. I showed her my photos and we consulted briefly, and she seemed to intuitively know what I envisioned for that day. Needless to say, I loved my makeup from the trial run and booked her on the spot. What I've learned with artists is that they either get you or they don't (also, they're either really good at what they do, or they're not) - and Judy gets it, big time.

So Makeup Box is definitely worth checking out, especially if you are an Asian woman feeling like you don't have that many options for wedding makeup in Atlanta. Because you would be right.
