Wedding Nightmare

I’m not one to typically write bad reviews, but I felt that I needed to voice my experience so others don’t have to go through the same stress as I did on what was supposed to be one of the happiest times of my life. I originally found Lush Beauty on the Knot with pretty great reviews so I thought it would be a pretty reputable company to hire. At the beginning of the process, I decided to book an event styling appointment for my bridal shower first, and then would book the trial and wedding day service after I saw how the bridal shower turned out. I thought it was kinda weird that she didn't require a deposit or give me a contract for this appointment. At 12am the morning of my bridal shower, I received an email from Cassondra’s husband stating that she had undergone emergency dental surgery earlier that evening and wouldn't be able to provide my service. I was left to do my own hair and makeup for an event that I wanted to feel extra beautiful and pampered. This should've been my red flag, but I decided to proceed and believe the best in people because it did seem like a freak, emergency, one time thing. Well I decided to go ahead and book my service and my trial for my bridal pictures/ rehearsal dinner the week before my wedding. Fast forward to December, we conversed on details and I reiterated that I needed to be ready for my photographer at 3pm and we decided that starting at 2 would give us plenty of time to be ready. On the day of my pictures, I arrived at the venue a few minutes before 2 like we said. At 2:09 I received an email with this exact quote “My truck would not turn on and we just got it going! I’m so sorry!! I won’t be there until closer till 3 but can definitely still put lashes and curls to help with the pictures! If you don’t already have my cell feel free to text me! [number redacted for privacy.] ” My entire world shattered as I started to freak out and realized I had no one to do my hair or makeup and had left all my makeup and hair products at home over an hour away. Luckily my amazing wedding coordinator told me that she had some experience doing makeup and suggested that we drive to the CVS a minute from the venue and she could get started for me (we ended up spending $100 in drug store makeup since we had little to none on hand.) Cassondra arrived at 3:15. I was supposed to be ready at 3. She put curls in my hair and applied lipstick and lashes while my photographer waited very patiently. I lost a lot of time for my photos and had to make my wedding party wait to start rehearsal that was supposed to be at 5pm. We should've had plenty of time for all of these things to occur if the schedule had been followed. Now fast forward to my wedding day, I was holding my breath and waiting for some sort of delay. My family members and matron of honor and I all brought all our makeup and hair products just in case. Luckily, she and her assistant arrived on time and started on my bridesmaids. Everything was going pretty good until about halfway through I realized we were a little behind schedule, but I knew we had some extra time worked in by my coordinator so I thought we would be okay….wrong. Again, pictures were to start at 3, and my ceremony at 5. My photographer had to wait once again and was trying to remain productive with detail and scenery and simple getting ready shots. My makeup and hair was finished around 4 and I was able to get some cute pictures with my bridesmaids in our getting ready outfits. At 5, my mom was still getting her makeup done and I was literally there anxiously standing next to my dress, waiting for my mom so she could help me put my dress on and experience that special moment with me. After I was in my dress, Cassondra did necessary touch ups since my hair had already fallen partially in an hour and added lipstick. By the time I was ready to walk down the aisle, it was 5:30! Not to mention that my curls had just about all fallen by 7-8pm. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with this company. This was supposed to be a fun and exciting time getting made up to marry the love of my life, and yet it was the reason I was anxious and jittery about everything going right. Save your money, time and sanity and just go with a different artist please.
