Greetings, and thanks for stopping by! My name is Richard Lizama. I'm the owner and videographer of Lizama Videography. Here's a little bit about me and what I do.

I'm a fan of music--which is kind of an understatement. Since I was a little one I would always listen to music and visualize what I was feeling in my head. Music is and always has been my main inspiration for many things in my life. About 12 years ago during the summer before my sophomore in high school in Amarillo, Texas, I was reading about this class where I would get to listen to music all day and play with electronics while I was at it. As I turned down the volume to the Dave Matthews Band (Before These Crowded Streets) CD in my bulky, AA battery powered, RCA CD Player I thought, " Where do I sign up?!"

Mrs. Larkan put me in front of an editing bay and told me to get to work. Then she put a video camera in my hand and told me to get out, interview people, and film things around campus. Little did I know my life would change a few years later because of her. We all have at least one teacher we remember fondly right? Well today, I'm fortunate enough to still consider her a great mentor and friend. Thank you Mrs. Larkan.

I studied film and mainly television in college for a couple years where I developed a love of documentaries and storytelling, but I became turned off by the potential 24 hour a day routine stuck inside a TV studio for less than ideal pay. So I did a 180 degree turn and switched majors. I finished my studies at Texas State University with a BA in Political Science and began working in another passion of mine--college administration--all while stockpiling music, inspiration, ideas, and concepts for video and film.

Where am I going with all of this?

Basically with my background, I'm not your typical wedding videographer. You'll have a formally trained, independent-minded videographer at your wedding who's approach to filming your wedding is different. You and your family provide the tools needed to tell your story on your day of days. During filming you won't feel overwhelmed by massive equipment in your way, or lighting directly in your face. In your video you'll have a thoughtful mix of traditional film making fused with indie film making. Lastly--be prepared for the love, heart, romance, and fun I'm going to capture at your wedding.
