Working out of Manhattan Beach, California, Lido Bakery is a business dedicated to creating customized gourmet wedding cakes and other tantalizing treats. Owner and lead baker, Ernesto Valenzuela opened the store in 2003 alongside his talented mother. The duo is passionate about their craft and strives to design each cake with love and care. Ernesto takes pride in implementing his clients’ unique style and personality into his work. Lido Bakery is DELICIOUS!!! I wanted to include some local vendors for our wedding and I drive by Lido every day. We met with Ernesto and tried cake samples and fell in love. We got about 10 dozen cupcakes of various flavors and a 2 tier cake for our wedding and they were all amazing! We are still receiving compliments on our cakes, especially our lemon surprise cake! Thank You Ernesto!

Best. wedding cake. ever. Lido Bakery gets 5 stars across the board for their professionalism and amazing cakes! Their cakes are not overly sweet or rich, they are so light and flavorful. The kind of cake that you can eat 5 pieces of! Plus the price is very reasonable. I gave them a picture of a design I saw in a magazine and they did a great job duplicating it.

I am so glad I got my wedding cake from Lido Bakery. It was divine! I would recommend it 100%!
1)The bakery is clean and cute.
2)The service is good.
3)All the cakes are fresh delicious! Not plain overly surgery sweet like other bakeries.
4)I am Chinese-American. Most Asians dislike how overly sweet cakes are from American bakeries. But the guests at my wedding raved about the cake from Lido Bakery!

We loved our cake from Lido Bakery. Lido has a great selection of flavors and the quality is amazing. We really wanted fresh berries throughout the cake and the only other bakery that was willing to do so was Sweet Lady Jane. (Way way out of our price range) I think Lido's cakes are very moist and he followed the design and colors that we requested perfectly. We had three layers and each one was very different and delicious. A lot of our guests commented on how nice the cake looked and tasted.
For those of you who are wondering:
Bottom layer: Triple berry cake. White cake with whipped topping. One layer with fresh strawberries, one blackberry and one raspberry.
Middle layer: Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache with whipped cream and fresh strawberries in between
Top layer: White cake with a white chocolate mouse with fresh raspberries.

Ernesto was nice, accommodating, and easy to get a hold of. The cake was beautiful and truly delicious! I think most guests were expecting a cake that was mostly for show but didn't taste so good, and they were all surprised and impressed by how good it was.

BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS cake : ) Evelinda's son Ernesto is the decorator and he did a nice, simple but elegant cake for us in two flavors. Evelinda used to be the baker at Sweet Lady Jane in LA, and left there to open her own place - she has all the same delicious flavors as SLJ does at more reasonable prices. Worth driving down to MB from LA!

Lido Bakery makes amazing cakes. We got the dulce de lece and the value per slice could not be beat. The minute I stepped into the bakery I knew there was something special. It's a mom and pop shop and our cake tasting consisted of a huge tray with every single cake they had -- for free! Talk about service. People were sad that they did not get a bigger slice at the wedding. It was moist, tasty, not too sweet -- perfect. I totally recommend Lido to anybody.

Make sure they write down any specific instructions you have about your cake (eg. butter cream frosting only) as our guy didn't and we got whipped cream frosting instead.
