Although I have been working with LaVonne since November of 2010 in planning a client's wedding, I have waited until AFTER the actual celebration itself to endorse her as fellow wedding professional out of fairness in reflecting her capabilities as a wedding planner. First, I want to say that LaVonne has a rare gift for calmness and fine calculation. In these days of "bridezillas" and events filled with DIY, her unyielding dedication to the client's overall vision was impressive. Second, as a full service caterer also with a full compliment of planning components, we appreciated LaVonne's cooperative efforts in making our mutual client's day a total success. She was not pushy or over-bearing as most planners we encounter are when working with us. I have to say that it truly is a challenge TODAY for a planner to find the perfect balance between being controlling (in the client's best interest) and when to step aside an allow the bride to assume a more active role. This event proved her skills as a caring, thoughtful support system for her client. As a 28-year veteran in the special events industry, I was impressed by LaVonne's flexibility in dealing with delays, unexpected errands, and ever-changing elements implemented by the client herself . . . . doing all of this with a smile on her face up until the end of the celebration. So many planners nowadays want to focus on their own egos, their own decorating styles, and their own vendors. Most do not give anyone else any credit for what they contribute to the wedding themselves. LaVonne is NOT one of those planners. She sincerely takes everything from the client's wishes to the vendors' needs into account. She make it all work through excellent communication and eagerness to cooperate with everyone. She definitely had much patience in dealing with the client's extensive DIY collection which was actually quite professional. She made certain the client's hard, creative endeavors got noticed and complimented. I could go on and on about LaVonne's capabilities as a wedding planner. I urge anyone who needs direction on their wedding day to hire LaVonne and LF Events to assure their ideas get translated into spectacular, well orchestrated celebration. Susan J.
