I'll be honest, a wedding cake was one of the wedding expenses I really just don't get. You get that one cake-cutting photo and by the time slices are on the tables, half of your guests are too busy dancing to even notice. I had no interest in buying an exorbitantly priced wedding cake that no one was going to eat.
Instead, my husband and I really wanted to do a dessert table with all different types of treats - something for everyone. Le Favorite is right around the corner from my parent's house, so we went there first. They have a great selection and high-quality products - which I knew going in. What I didn't know was how reasonable their prices would be. Usually, when you say "wedding," the price is instantly doubled. But at Le Favorite, we got 300 pieces of dessert for about $300, and were able to put together a treat table that people flocked to. Our assortment included brownies, cream cheese blondies, mini cheesecakes, cupcakes, apple tarts, cream puffs and eclairs. Everything was delicious! I have no complaints at all. And even though our venue was 45 minutes away, Le Favorite delivered for just a $20 fee.
The downside to creating your own dessert table is that the vendor won't usually have many trays, but we found a low-cost solution by purchasing really pretty wrapping paper in our wedding colors and wrapping different sized boxes to create our own trays and to give the table some height.
