Jerry is honest, reliable, and delivers the best possible food. My guests have been raving about the food since my wedding and I really hope to attend another Kona Jerry event myself!

Kona Jerry catered our wedding with a delicious buffet style meal at the Seymour Center in Santa Cruz on 6/3/23. Jerry accommodated several guests with food restrictions, including pescatarians, vegetarians, and vegans. Our guests were raving about the food.
We loved how Jerry used fruits and flowers to make the food display celebratory (and guests had fun trying new-to-them fruits!). Pricing felt very reasonable for the excellent quality of food provided, and there was a ton of food! Jerry was prompt, his crew was professional, and setup through teardown was very smooth.
The tasting session made it easy to choose our menu preferences, and we really enjoyed hearing about Jerry's approach to BBQ and how he developed some of his recipes. We would recommend Jerry for weddings, or any event!

I am a professional chef, and have pretty high standards. But Jerry exceded all my expectations. Hands-down, the best BBQ catering I've had in my life. I booked him for a party of 50 people and Jerry's catering was the highlight. EVERYONE wanted his details to book him for their events. He's also extremely professional, friendly, and very easy to work with. I couldn't recommend him more highly!

Kona Jerry was amazing from the first time we reached out, to the tasting, all the way to our wedding. He went above and beyond to make our wedding in Big Sur a success! He took the time to make a site visit to make sure everything would go smoothly and was very responsive when we had questions. Hands down he is the best barbeque we have ever had and numerous guests shared the same statement! We also is one of the very few vendors we worked with that isn't trying to nickel and dime you which was much appreciated! Highly recommend!!

From the moment we met Kona Jerry for our first wedding tasting, we knew he was the one. It was love at first bite. Holy smokes, this man knows his BBQ! As a very picky meat eater, even I was drooling over the to-die-for ribs! He sent us home with plenty of leftovers so we could enjoy the salad, exotic fruits, perfectly cooked meats, and that AMAZING macadamia nut bread.

We just had our wedding and Kona Jerry and his team were absolutely amazing. Kona Jerry worked with us on a fun customized menu and helped me include my favorite Thai dessert, mango sticky rice. He even searched all over the area to find me mangos in season that week, what a gem!

The spread was beautiful, the team was on point with everything, and our wedding guests could not get enough! They are still talking about the best ribs they've ever had.

We used Kona Jerry's for our recent wedding and the experience from start to finish was fantastic. Jerry is very responsive, professional and cooks a delicious spread that guests are still talking about! Which is exactly what we wanted. He was able to customize our menu due to my food allergy and our personal preference of what we wanted to serve our guests. He was even able to accommodate our ever changing guest numbers and never once got cross with me.

We had Kona Jerry cater the Welcome BBQ during our wedding weekend at Gardener Ranch and everything was nothing short of flawless and absolutely DELICIOUS!

With my then-fiancé being a huge BBQ nerd (he smokes his own meats), we were looking for legit BBQ but were not sure what we'd find in the Carmel / Monterey-area. So we were SO excited to have come across Kona Jerry via Yelp. And after seeing that Jerry had spent a good amount of time in Hawaii, we were even more excited as my family has some Hawaiian roots and wanted to incorporate some of those flavors and dishes in our food throughout the weekend. Kona Jerry more than happily obliged, adding in Chicken Long Rice, Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, and Mac Salad to our menu!!

From our initial “tasting” (where Jerry let us not only taste food, but also bring home leftovers enough to feed a village) through the actual Welcome BBQ, both the service and quality exceeded our expectations. Jerry confidently told us multiple times that he would be a tough act to follow, and he was absolutely right. Our guests raved about everything, and particularly loved the whole smoked pig, smoked brisket, and his signature mango macadamia nut bread. Jerry also set up a beautiful buffet line and put huge smiles on our guests’ faces as they passed through.

This guy is a CROOK. I worked with him a couple times. He over charges his customers. He pays his people under the table and if you do something wrong he we will write you a check as punishment. He will literally drop a whole chicken on the dusty ground (like at a park) and dust it off and then put it in the smoker. He par cooks the meat a few days before your event and then reheats it in the smoker. So it's not freshly smoked BBQ. He sanitation is gross. The machine that he chops his brisket with actually took the hand off of another person and that's how he got his chopper. Going back to over charging. He over charges so he can give extra food away. So your basically paying for other people's food as well. Stay away. There is nothing aloha about Kona Jerry
