About

Constructed in 1810, King Manor Museum is a wedding and event venue in Jamaica, New York that offers an elevated setting for “I dos.” The property was originally the home of Rufus King, a politician, anti-slavery advocate, and signer of the United States Constitution. Home to members of the family until 1896, it was purchased by the village along with the 11.5 acres it was then sitting on. A museum since 1900, this historic and stately site offers couples a sophisticated place for their vow exchange and celebrations.

Facilities and Capacity

The dining and entertainment room is the main event space at King Manor Museum. It boasts the original Federal-style architecture and accents that make this such a classic backdrop for weddings. The room was designed to have excellent acoustics, ideal for musical entertainment. The room was created to be bright and airy before the time of electricity and is thus an inviting space to this day. The dining room is suited to smaller wedding events. Food and drinks are not allowed in these period rooms, but light bites and refreshments can be enjoyed in the foyer. This area has access to the backyard, which can be included in your rental of the venue. The North Kitchen is often used as a dressing room or even for storage during gatherings. The house can accommodate up to 100 guests and the outdoor area can fit up to 200 loved ones. Tents may be set up outside.

Services Offered

Some event rentals are available at this historic manor. There is also WiFi for the convenience of everyone. Up to seven cars can park at the venue, offering one less stress for you and your wedding party as you travel to the location. Besides serving as a venue for nuptial celebrations, the manor can also host engagement parties and showers.

Location

King Manor Museum is situated in a park in New York City. It is near major transportation lines in the Big Apple, including the Long Island Railway and three subways. For the convenience of family and friends flying in, the manor is also close to the LaGuardia and JFK airports.
