It all started with a bike ride!
We are your hosts, Tara and Gerry. We married in 2016, with both of us bringing together children from previous marriages. As a newly married couple, we wanted to tackle something new together - something we could create - something that would hopefully make a difference in our community. So, we went for a bike ride!
One beautiful Sunday afternoon, as we rode our bikes down the beach road, we observed several tents scattered along the route. We soon learned there were six wedding in progress! The idea for Haven on the Banks and Keeper's Galley was born!

Nancy Harvey joined the Haven on the Banks team in December 2021 as the Venue Director. We are thrilled to have Nancy's expertie aboard. She prides herself on being providing a top level concierge service for our couples.
Nancy studied Fine Art and Art History at Spring Hill College in Moblie Alabama later she transferred after her sophomore year to The Kansas City Art Institute. She served as a Creative Product Designer for Hallmark Cards, Inc. in New Product Development – Season Celebrations creating products for Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Mother’s Day Father’s Day, and Christmas, Pop Up Books, and perfume cards for Elizabeth Arden. She also served on the trends board. Sometimes in charge of over 800 stock numbers.
Nancy worked as Special Events Coordinator for The Town of Manteo and, later as Development and Education Coordinator for The Elizabethan Gardens, a 15 acre formal Garden on Roanoke Island.
Her talent as a designer brings a unique and striking elegance to each of her individual creations that enhance the total ambiance of any special event. The empathy she learned for caring for a loved one enhanced her love of flowers and nature.
Nancy is a true visionary and artist and we are lucky to have her aboard!
