108 Budleigh is a historic wedding venue located in Manteo, North Carolina. This spectacular mansion offers a classically elegant feel, imparting an air of sophistication to any event. The property's team accommodates only one event per day, allowing newlywed couples and their guests to benefit from the full grounds.

Facilities and Capacity

This venue can host up to 150 people for a banquet meal and up to 250 for a cocktail hour reception. With two ballrooms and a stunning veranda, couples may avail of indoor and outdoor event spaces. The first ballroom offers a grand staircase in front of large, stained glass windows. This presents a stunning backdrop for pictures of the newlyweds or group shots with the wedding party. The walls are adorned with vintage-style mirrors, while antique-style furniture is dotted around the room. This area also offers an upstairs balcony room with a bar, where guests can view the festivities below. The second, larger ballroom boasts iron chandeliers, polished wooden floors, and a working fireplace. An outdoor veranda is also available on the site, offering a spacious area for cocktails or simply for guests to mingle.

This team is experienced in hosting engagement parties, elopements, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions. They can provide items such as Chiavari chairs, banquet and buffet tables, and a cake table. The venue welcomes outside vendors who can assist the couple in making their day a celebration to remember. Parking is available on the site, which is also wheelchair accessible.

History

This mansion previously operated as a diner and family home for over 50 years, and was named 'Walkers Diner'. Purchased in 2000 by Malcolm and Susan Fearing, they began renovation works while preserving the site's sense of history. They sourced pieces from across the country that could add character to the building, such as authentic stained glass windows obtained from a church. The mansion was opened as an event space in 2001.

This venue is located close to a range of activities and local attractions, such as the Elizabeth Gardens. It is a short drive from the Alligator National Wildlife Refuge for those interested in nature, as well as the Roanoke Island Festival Park.
