My husband and I hired Karen Leaf to photograph our wedding last July, and it was one of the best wedding-related decisions we made. Karen was a joy to work with, not only on the wedding day itself, but also in the months leading up to it. She was at once both personal and professional, and very flexible.

We were thrilled with how our photos and album came out. Our reception was in a dark barn, but she was able to work with the less-than-ideal lighting and we wound up with some terrific photos.

We were so happy to have Karen Leaf do photos for our wedding. She immediately made both of us feel comfortable. The photos and the album turned out beautifully. She also had some really cool ideas about shots to take at our venue and she found the perfect moment to get us both outside for some really romantic and beautiful sunset shots. We also did a photobooth and it was a major hit with our guests. I would highly recommend her. We plan to use her again for future family photos.

Where should I start? From the moment I called Karen Leaf (we talked for almost 2 hours on the phone about the wedding, how my finance and I met, the venues, etc. etc.) I just knew she was THE ONE that I wanted to capture the most important day of our lives. Over the next year, we spoke every month or so as the arrangements were solidified. She helped me organize a timeline for the event and went over the "must have" pictures. But, more importantly she fully supported by decision to have a Couture storybook album and even travelled to Boston with us to meet with the publisher who had flown in from California for a conference. Well before the "big day", Karen knew what I wanted and was ready, willing and able to deliver! She even brought on 2 additional assistance photographers to work with her so every moment was captured. On the day of the event, she was invaluable. She took my timeline and ran with it. I had every picture I ever wanted and more, but often didn't even notice she was there (except when she reminded me to cut the cake). The pictures were absolutely phenominal. In fact, when I saw the first one (she sent via email as a teaser), it took my breath away. All I could say was "is that really me"? Karen captured a moment, a look, a feeling I will always remember when I look back at that picture. In fact, she did that for 198 pages of the most BEAUTIFUL wedding album I have ever seen. We had the pleasure of choosing Karen Leaf Photography to photograph our wedding last year. We found her among a vendor list for Martha's Vineyard Wedding Photographers and contacted her and several other photographers. While all the photographers had beautiful portfolios, we instantly clicked with Karen. She responded to our initial inquiry very quickly, and soon after my wife and I (fiancee at the time) had our first meeting with her (using Face Time on our computers, because we live in New York and she in Connecticut). By the end of the meeting we knew she was the one to photograph our special day.

Karen was always available to bounce ideas off of, go over schedule changes and itinerary needs, as well as give advice to a couple of first-timers here. During the wedding day Karen covered everything we wanted, from the Bride getting ready to family photos after the ceremony, and wedding party photos before the reception, Karen was professional, efficient, and personal. She helped keep the day on schedule, while not sacrificing any of the shots we wanted. She made us quite comfortable so it never felt forced, or rigid, but rather like a family friend was recording the day with us. And most importantly, we love looking at the photos from our wedding!

My wife and I spend a lot of the summer on Martha's Vineyard, and while there, I proposed and my wife said yes! While there, we came across Karen's website from a wedding vendor magazine. We had come across other photographer's websites as well, also with excellent credentials, but Karen stood out. She returned my emails quickly, was very pleasant, and was accommodating in both package and payment methods. After a short review of potential photographers, we decided on Karen. We're glad we did.

We eventually met Karen a few months after signing a contract. We wound up meeting her in May of 2009, at our wedding venue. She met is with a happy face and a friendly smile, showing us her ideas while she gauged our preferences. Since long-distance things are tough (we're from Long Island and we got married on Martha's Vineyard) we were thrilled that the meeting went so well and so smooth.

Constant (and quick) communication when needed was happening as our wedding approached, and the wedding day came off without a hitch. We have amazing photos of our wedding that we both adore, and if we had to do it over again, we'd pick Karen again. In fact, we're due to head up her way in CT sometime soon for family photos.

It's rare when I give everyone or anything 5-stars, but this 5-star award is well deserved. If you're looking for a photographer, and need a professional with great skills and a work ethic that is unmatched, call Karen. You won't be disappointed.

Karen Leaf was so great to work with! She had done my sisters wedding 5 years before mine, and I loved what she did then. She was able to do great things and even helped retouch my pictures, seeing as I got stitches in my face a couple days before the wedding. I will be using Karen again when I have children. I'm not sure how to put into words the appreciation and admiration I feel for Karen Leaf. She has done three different photo sessions with my grandson providing us with a very special keepsake of the first year of his life. From the moment we walked through the door, Karen made us feel welcome and valuable. She went above and beyond to accommodate our every request and even took the time to get on the floor to play with the little guy so that she could make him feel more at ease. (And might I add...she captured his heart as well as his image!) Our worries that he wasn't his usual smiling self and that the pictures would not be as good as we had hoped were quickly put to rest when we were called in to review the proofs. The photos were amazing and brought many a tear to our eyes!! She captured smiles, laughter, and sparkles in his eyes. She even made his serious moments into a jaw dropping work of art!! Karen Leaf is the real deal....the complete package that everyone is always looking for. Warm, inviting, timely and efficient, talented and accommodating are but a few words that come to mind when I think of Karen Leaf Photography. My only regret is that I didn't know this photographer when I got married. Maybe I should plan on a renewal of vows so that she can be my photographer!
